Idol Gunner [Yuri Villainess LitRPG]

Album 2, Track 59: Dreadful and Demolition

What had Yuko Suzuki truly been trained in? Kana would have once thought that since she was a Sniper Class, she was trained in exactly that. Now, her opinion had changed. As she stumbled back and moved to the wall closest to her, she wondered if this girl had not been trained in just being rage-inducing instead.

“Marie, get inside!”

The leader of Nozoki Neko looked at her for just a second before blocking Ayaka’s gauntlets with her gun. Then, sweeping her feet to throw the enemy’s balance off, she ran back. Kana punched the window closest to her, right as a second bullet from Yuko’s gun shattered its glass. Using the benefit, she rolled into the ground-floor corridor and crouched down to hide.

Beside her, a second later, appeared Marie Iwata. Catching her breath, she checked the time. They were only halfway through the round. There was still an hour and a half left. This was an ideal condition. Yet, Kana did not feel happy about this outcome. There was no bravery in fighting beasts like Akiko and Yuko when she knew her own weapons were not good enough.

That was just called common sense.

“You….assholes!” Shoko Takahashi appeared beside them, panting and bending down to rest her hands on her knees. The girl was covered in sweat and even had two bruises on her head. She must have fallen down the stairs as she got down from the second floor. Widening her eyes, she started shouting once more, “What do you think you’re doing!? You think you’re good enough to take on Akiko-chan, do you? I was all alone up there!”

“Yeah, yeah. I’m sorry for leaving poor little Sho-chan alone, alright? Now get the fuck down and take cover.”

“Huh? Why?”

A bullet flew in through the window, grazing her cheek and leaving a clean wound. Once blood started flowing down, the healer crouched down and sat beside the other two. Her eyes reflected a defeat so profound that she did not even want to admit it anymore.

“Minami-san, focus on Sachiyo and Neptune. I’ll get the other team.” Marie asked, taking a peek out of the window.

“Akiko, Ayaka, and Jina? Are you out of your mind?” Kana asked, equipping the Portable Landmine once more.

“Takahashi-san, support me for that. We should be fine if we’re working together. Speed and Precision potions above all, got it? As for you, Minami-san. You should be…fine, I think?”

“Yeah.” Kana sighed, aiming the weapon at the floor as she prepared the mines for their arrival. At the same time, looking in all directions, she tried to put her verbalize her thoughts, “Keep away from the courtyard, obviously. Yuko Suzuki is on third floor of the opposite side of the mansion. If you can make Ayaka Tamura break all the walls right below that part, we can make her entire team collapse.”

“That’s well and good. I’ll try. But…do we want them to collapse?”

“Of course we do. What are you on about? Wanna die, do you?” Shoko raised her voice, only to be shut up by another stray bullet.

Kana ignored her and kept looking at Marie instead. She wasn’t wrong. They couldn’t risk getting Yuko’s team out right now if they wanted the plan to succeed. Two out of four teams had been eliminated, which left them with only one more team to take out. Once that was done, Team 1 would be the one that needed to die.

“Well…” She shook her head and placed the last mine, “Might as well go out swinging!”

The wall they were leaning on cracked. The impact pushed the girls forward, and then the mines went off at once. The wood tore into pieces, and Kana ran forward to avoid the attack. Shoko did the same, immediately throwing a healing potion down, splashing all three of them.

Out of the smoke, fire, and debris of the wall appeared Ayaka Tamura. The gauntlet-wielding force of nature did not pause for even a moment before going straight for her opponent. Grabbing Marie by the shoulder, she swatted her away to the right like a fly, tearing through the mansion’s structures. Ignoring Kana and Shoko after that, Tamura followed her prey.

“After her, Takahashi!”

Kana screamed, getting up and rushing into the courtyard. The smoke from all the mines was still up, which provided her enough cover. Shoko did not need to be told twice, and ran to the right, hoping to catch up to Marie before it was too late.

Through the smoke, Kana ran while trying to pinpoint the hum of Sachiyo Tanaka’s barrier dome and the relentless fire of Neptune’s rifle. Considering the constant clangs, it looked like Jina was fighting both of them. That was good. Yuko did not have eyes on the courtyard for some time, which gave Kana enough time to make a difference and divide the team.

She prepared to jump, switching to the Grenade Launcher to attack as necessary. Stomping through the cobblestone path of the open space, she caught a glimpse of Sachiyo’s barrier and shot. The grenade went flying through, creating an arc in the smoke right before it hit her blue field and blasted. An explosion that caught both Jina and Neptune’s attention as well.

Kana smiled, aiming for the Fluorescent Angels member next. Gun loaded and ready to fire, she aimed…only to feel a strange sensation on her stomach. What felt like someone’s palm touched the side of her abdomen, and Kana lost all control over her body. She put her weapon away as her feet flew off the ground without consent, and she was sent blasting through the courtyard.

The smoke cleared, and Akiko Hara’s figure became obvious. She put her hand down and walked away through the opening Ayaka had created on the other side. Kana grimaced, gritting her teeth and looking away. Her body smacked against someone else, and both of them were sent towards another wooden wall.

She wasn’t sure who she had brought along with her until she noticed that Neptune and Sachiyo had been left behind. Then, right as Sachiyo raised her Gatling Gun to tear them to shreds, an axe appeared from behind her as a shield. It was Jina. That was who had been caught in Akiko’s attack. Unfortunately for her, an axe would not be enough.

Railgun

Level 3

Aiming the weapon at Sachiyo’s gun, Kana shot.

Past the guard of the axe, and through the hail of bullets, the energy blast inched closer to Sachiyo. Due to the lack of ground, Kana and Jina were pushed back further by the recoil of the massive weapon. Breaking the wall behind them, the girls fell to the floor of the mansion. Jina rolled away and smashed face-first into a wall, while Kana hit her back on a thin pillar and groaned.

The railgun shot, meanwhile, shone against the blue barrier Sachiyo was inside and redirected itself towards Neptune. She was sent blasting away too, leaving behind nothing except a small shriek that soon got out of the proximity chat’s range.

“Ouch…” Kana coughed, and some of the wood dust flew into the air. Pushing herself up and wiping off the blood that had started covering her screen, she looked at Jina. The goth girl had already managed to get on her feet, though her face looked much worse in comparison.

“Who…?” She asked.

“Akiko…” Kana managed to get the words out of her mouth even as blood spluttered out, “What class does she have, anyway?”

Jina looked at her and rolled her eyes, “That’s the kicker.”

“What?”

“Healing. Akiko Hara has the Healing Class.”

“The fuc-”

“Hey!” Sachiyo interrupted her thoughts, coming in with her hands outstretched like a ramming bull. Her hands wrapped around Kana’s waist, her head pushing against her stomach, as she tackled the girl to the ground.

Jina picked her axe up, getting ready to swing it before she remembered that Kana was one of the opponents. Grunting with annoyance, she turned her attention to Neptune. The assault class member had been smashed against the lower courtyard wall. Switching to the sword, she decided to stab her and get it done with. The railgun had done enough damage to ensure she wasn’t going to stand up.

She turned to be right in front of Neptune and prepared her attack. To the left, Kana had broken free of Sachiyo’s grab and was involved in a brutal melee. To the right, Ayaka and the others had…disappeared. Jina closed her eyes, cocking her head to see if she could hear them better. But all she heard was the click of a rifle’s magazine.

Yuko Suzuki was still up there. Panicked, she changed to the sledgehammer and hit the wall behind Neptune with everything she had. The head pierced straight through, only to get stuck. She grunted, trying to pull it out. On the third floor, Yuko got ready to shoot. The only moving person in the courtyard was her obvious target. Neptune started to stir, gripping her gun with a finger on the trigger already.

Kana kicked Sachiyo in the ankle, making her lose balance before landing a downward bash into her skull. The Ruby Passion member grunted, but used the positioning to punch her opponent in the stomach as well. Both of them moved backwards once more and pushed against a wall. Before a second attack could pin her further, Kana materialized her Railgun once more, aiming it right at Sachiyo’s chest in close quarters.

The bullet left Yuko’s gun, travelling down to the courtyard, only for Neptune to come to her senses and raise her own weapon. Letting a barrage fly out of her assault rifle, she blocked the shot. Jina, frustrated by the lack of movement, let go of the hammer. Instead, she stepped back and raised her waist. Jumping up with her legs outstretched, the soles of her shoes met Neptune’s cheeks, sending her barreling through the weakened wall before Yuko could shoot once more.

Now with three walls broken, the ground floor of the mansion started to creak. Kana felt the wood above her head beginning to bend and inch closer. Sachiyo tried to pull free, but Kana held on to her hair, keeping her stuck in position as the railgun built up its power. Little by little, as the floor came down, the charge went up.

Jina saw the wood grazing her cheek, but no pain was transmitted to her real body. Falling into the mansion with Neptune below her, for a second, she decided to breathe. Only for a second, though. She did not get as much time as she needed. Ayaka had not disappeared, after all. She had merely repositioned. And before the two could hit the floor, a flying table crashed into their bodies, sending them to the left – where Kana had Sachiyo locked.

Behind the two collapsed girls, from Kana’s perspective, were Ayaka and Marie. Dodging every single attack, the latter had already blown multiple holes into the gauntlet-wielding madwoman. Her arms were barely holding on, with the dangling tendons trying to stick together even as the burns from the bullets pulled them apart. Behind her, Akiko walked with grace, holding Shoko Takahashi’s dead body in her hands.

Not yet, Kana thought. As the healer’s headless corpse was thrown out in the courtyard, she decided that they could not be the third team to go out. They were going to be fourth, and they were going to die after killing them. The Railgun charged, and she unleashed the attack at once.

Burning through Sachiyo Tanaka’s body, the beam killed her at once. Her melted self slipped out of Kana’s hand, and the railgun’s shot shifted focus. First, the walls that still kept the mansion standing. Burning through all the wood at once, she decimated the structures, keeping the upper floors standing. Then, she shifted to Ayaka Tamura.

The hulking beast of a girl, who had another powered-up attack aimed at Marie’s head, screamed with joy. The energy beam reached her, but only barely. Slicing off her right arm, it handicapped Ayaka, but stopped before she could die. That moment, however, was all Marie Iwata needed. Aiming her gun right at the enemy’s head, she held the trigger down without pause.

A dozen bullets pierced through her skull, and Tamura finally fell. Jina and Neptune tried to recover, almost getting up before they noticed the creaking wood and took cover under the table that had brought them here. Kana ran for it, too. Putting her weapon away, she took a deep breath and rushed forward to reach it before the roof collapsed. From the other side, Marie and Akiko also made their moves. From the top, the booms of sniper bullets being shot one after the other made the mansion groan.

And then, it all came down.

_____________

Kana coughed, getting out from under the table with Jina and Neptune. Beside them, unable to stand due to a lack of legs, was Marie Iwata. A second’s miscalculation had caused them to be ripped apart. Blood pouring out of her mouth, she still cocked her gun.

The rubble was everywhere. The entire map had been destroyed, and everyone was affected. Yuko Suzuki stood far away, out of the destruction, with both of her teammates. On the opposite sides, Kelsey and her team pulled themselves up, too. She looked at Kana with a scowl. Right next to the table were Saturn and her three partners. They must have been right above them on the first or second floor.

And to the right, where she should have died, was a completely unharmed Akiko Hara. Still in pristine condition, she smiled at Kana once more. Then, before anything else could be done, she mouthed, “Impressive!”

“Minami-san…” Marie groaned, grabbing her attention.

“Yeah?” Kana bent down, pulling Marie’s dying body closer.

“Sachiyo Tanaka…dead?” She coughed once more, but her hand did not let go of the rifle in her hand.

“Yeah. Melted somewhere under all that.”

“Good.”

There was no hesitation in her next move. Before Neptune could even gather herself or understand the situation, Marie raised her gun with the last bit of strength she had and shot. The rifle fell out of Iwata’s hand, and she died. Two bullets made their way into her head, and she fell to the ground.

Eliminated – Team 2

“Holy shit.” Jina sighed, “I didn’t know she was that brutal.”

“Same.” Kana shrugged.

This meant only one thing. Now that the third team had been taken out, there wasn’t much left to do. Shoko was dead, and so was Marie. There was only one team with one member standing. Kana stretched and walked out into the open, taking her grenade launcher out and heading to the courtyard.

Surrounded by the many enemies, she screamed.

“How do you like that, huh?”

First, she aimed it at Yuko Suzuki. The grenade flew in the air, only to be immediately taken out by Kelsey’s sniper. It blew up in the air, and the shrapnel fell down to hit Kana in the face. Brilliant work there. It almost made her proud of how far that blonde bitch had come. She was even following the plan like a good girl.

“Minami-san.” Akiko Hara called out to her, walking forward, “That was fun, wasn’t it?”

“Very.” Kana laughed, turning to aim her launcher at the leader of Ruby Passion.

For a split second, her heart stopped beating. The view cemented itself in her memory. Even if Akiko’s face held confidence, it did not change the fact that Kana had a barrel pointed at her. It did not change the fact that this was something she had wanted to see forever. Too bad, the time was not right. One day, she promised herself, it would be.

Akiko smiled, and the sound of Yuko’s sniper was the last thing Kana heard before the screen went black.

Eliminated – Team 1

There had been a few ups and downs, but this had gone better than expected. It had been more fun than expected. Velvet Beats would still get its chance at winning the game, but Kana would not be the one taking it. That was the plan, after all. That was what needed to happen for them to win the war.

The pod opened, and Kana wiped the smile off her face. Round 1 was over, and she needed to be angry about it.
