Chapter 246: A brief moment of jealousy
It was kind of nice to talk to everyone about their plans. Maxwell was going along with Andrew’s words, and had even gotten up and grabbed the list that Andrew had made before. May smirked as she read the list, and Ford chuckled as well. Thomas and Luis didn’t think any of it was too hard to find, while Kim and Jenny were thinking about the house that they had suggested that they view the next day.
They were waiting while both of the realtors from Thomas and Kim were busy, at this time of night, getting a list mocked up for Maxwell and Andrew to look at the next day.
Andrew wouldn’t lie and say that he wasn’t a little upset that he didn’t get to do all of this with just Maxwell, but he also understood he didn’t have to make a choice tomorrow. Or even the day after. The people around him just wanted to help.
Andrew, like Maxwell, needed to accept that they just wanted to help. Like Maxwell, he needed to be more open to it, and he needed to not freak out that others wanted, and could, help him. It wasn’t a personal attack. He was capable of doing things himself, but why would he do that when he didn’t need to?
Coming to terms with that was hard, especially right now. Maxwell was having just as much of a hard time, but he wasn’t as obvious as Andrew was being. May was poking fun at Andrew, needling him in a way that didn’t upset him, but instead made him flustered and red in the face.
Ford wasn’t any better. He just did it with a softer hand. They were leaving Maxwell alone, mostly, except for a few jabs at him, and demands for hugs when Maxwell looked like he was getting too flustered. It was all in good fun, and it appeared as if Maxwell was okay with it, but Andrew was getting a little testy.
He was beginning to feel the same way that he had felt about Maxwell when he had been in his heat. Possessive. Aggressive. Wanting to hide him away from the others.
It was when Andrew actually snapped at May, his eyes glowing amber pits in his face that everyone realised he’d probably reached his limit.
Kim snorted, turning to Jenny.
