Chapter 225: A contract made with words
"Let’s get some breakfast started, clean up my clothes on the floor, and we can discuss this more, okay? If I’m honest with you, I’m still pretty shaken up from finding you like that again, Maxy, and I just need to make sure that you’re okay right now." Andrew told him and Maxwell paused, before he nodded. He rubbed his face against Andrew’s chest, before pushing away from his arms.
It was the first time he’d done so since yesterday, and Andrew couldn’t help the frown that touched his lips.
"Of course, I should-are you pouting? Why?" Maxwell’s serious tone cut off, laughter seeming to surprise him as he stared up at Andrew’s face.
"You pushed away from me." Andrew admitted, and Maxwell’s eyes widened before he grinned.
"Because you want to make breakfast! I just didn’t want to inconvenience you after last night." Andrew pulled him closer, leaning down to grab Maxwell’s ass and haul him up Andrew’s body. Maxwell flung his arms around Andrew’s neck, holding onto him as his legs wrapped around him. Andrew began to move towards the kitchen, still pouting.
"You are not an inconvenience, you are never an inconvenience. Did I complain yesterday when you were acting spoiled? No, and that remains true. Why the hell would I have this strength if it wasn’t to carry around my partner when I wanted to?" Maxwell’s face flushed and he tucked his face into Andrew’s neck.
"I thought you just liked to look nice." Andrew chuckled.
"It also stemmed from my old work. I would get out-lifted by some of the men and women I would be checking up on, and I just found that pretty demoralizing, so I started going to the gym. Had I known that I would have gotten an alpha boost later in life, I might have made some different decisions." Andrew joked and Maxwell sighed.
"More lore. I had no idea that was the reason you’re so..." Maxwell trailed off and Andrew heard him swallow. Andrew smirked. He turned until his lips were brushing against Maxwell’s ear, feeling a little devious.
