Chapter 203: That was the wrong thing to say
Andrew stumbled into the doorframe of the bathroom, a silly grin on his face as he gripped onto the door. He stumbled towards the door, fumbling with the lock only to realise he hadn’t locked the door at all last night.
Oops.
Throwing the door open, Andrew’s smile froze on his face as he was faced with a very short, very angry man with black hair and piercing blue eyes. He had his arms crossed, his suit was impeccable, and he appeared to have a guard with him. It was one of the alphas that his Father had hired for him, and Andrew felt his smile slip from his face entirely.
Maxwell’s eyebrow twitched as he stared up at Andrew.
"What? Who were you expecting?" He demanded and Andrew stuttered over his words.
"M-My order." Andrew mumbled, confused. Why was he here? This didn’t make any sense. He had been at work just a few moments ago, and now he was here? Had he teleported?
Maxwell stepped towards him, and Andrew stumbled back. Maxwell sniffed, before making a disgusted face and covering his nose.
"Is that alcohol? Dear lord, what have you been up to when I haven’t had my eye on you?" Maxwell demanded, before he pushed past Andrew and into the room. He looked around in disgust, scoffing at the mess Andrew had made. Andrew felt his face heat, any and all excitement leaving his body. He glanced at the guard, but he gestured that he was going to remain outside. Andrew, for his own peace of mind, flicked the lock over so that when the door closed it wasn’t fully closed.
That way if anything happened, he could come in without breaking the door down. Andrew didn’t think it would come to that, but he would rather be safe than sorry.
"Andrew, what on earth have you done in such a short period of time? Am I seeing this right? Is this five bottles of whiskey? Empty? How are you still standing?" Andrew listened to Maxwell prattle on, lecturing him like normal. But this didn’t feel normal.
Andrew swallowed thickly, his throat feeling swollen with the words he wanted to say, but he wasn’t sure he was actually going to be able to get out. He stepped into the main part of the room, taking in what Maxwell was seeing with his own eyes.
