Chapter 172: A trust fund kid? Andy?
Andrew could tell he was anxious. He knew it was silly of him, but he couldn’t stop tapping his foot, shaking his leg, or anything else. He was just excited, and nervous.
This felt like a big thing. It felt like they were doing something crazy, and he was nervous that Dr. Cox would find out what they were doing. They were in the same office! It felt like he was doing something nefarious!
He hadn’t really done something like this before, and he was worried that the delicate relationship that he had formed with her would be harmed if she found out. He had a few backup responses, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t nervous.
Maxwell, on the other hand, didn’t give a flying fuck about what they were about to do. He’d been up to his tits in meeting after meeting. Even more so after he proposed a daycare and cafeteria like Andrew had suggested.
It was a hit, apparently. The whole board loved the idea, especially after Ben endorsed it, and so did Thomas. Maxwell had been all proud about that too, and had pulled Andrew into a supply closet to make out with him in the five minutes of time that they had together during lunch.
Andrew had come out, flushed and clearly up to something he shouldn’t be at work, while Maxwell had looked like he hadn’t done anything at all. Not a ruffled suit in sight.
Maxwell had been ambushing him in the two weeks that he’d been working at the company. Next Monday, when Maxwell had to go to the Doctor, was his official two weeks in his mind, but it was still crazy to think about.
He had been back to a regular, normal life for almost that long. He could be normal and live a normal life after everything in his life had changed.
Now he was feeling emotional, and nervous.
"What’s up with you, Dr Nice?" Dr. Piper asked, noticing that Andrew seemed to be a nervous wreck. Andrew let out a deep sigh, trying to calm himself after working himself up even more.
"Oh, it’s nothing. I’m just-" Richard laughed, interrupting Andrew speaking.
