Chapter 161: Can’t we just order in?
The drive back to the house was cordial, nice, and honestly, Andrew felt like he was floating. It was nice to pull into their driveway, Maxwell waddle out of the car and Andrew would help him to the door, nod to the security that was sitting in the car out front, and then they’d enter the house together.
It was just...nice. He felt like they were taking a step forward. They were actually living together now, and he couldn’t help the giant, goofy, happy smile on his face as he took off his shoes.
He could feel Maxwell watching him, but even if Maxwell asked what was going on, he wasn’t sure what to say. That he was happy? He was sure that Maxwell was going to find it suspicious, but that was all Andrew could say.
He was happy.
Andrew tucked his shoes away, watching as Maxwell took off layer after layer of clothing. Andrew, wanting to help, stood and took everything from him, hanging it up for him. When Maxwell went to bend and take off his shoes, Andrew jumped on the chance to do it for him.
Kneeling before the other man, Andrew carefully helped Maxwell take his shoes off, Maxwell’s hand on his shoulder for balance feeling like a brand.
"Andy Baby, you don’t need to do this." Maxwell said with his mouth, but didn’t stop Andrew from doing the task. Andrew smiled to himself as he carefully took his foot out of his shoe and lined it up like Maxwell liked.
"I know. I just wanted to." Andrew told him. Maxwell’s hand flexed on his shoulders.
"Are you planning to make dinner tonight?" Maxwell asked softly and Andrew nodded.
"Yeah. We ate out for lunch, and I had already made the layered potato dish I planned to have tonight and it’s in the fridge." Andrew told him and Maxwell’s grip tightened.
"What if we ordered in instead?" Maxwell asked and Andrew froze. He sensed a plan, and he slowly raised his head to meet Maxwell’s soft, curious gaze. That alone was suspicious.
