Chapter 158: Just a cute little girl
Michael left shortly after that, staying back long enough to meet his other researchers in his department before he left Andrew on his own. Andrew had to walk him to the elevators to let him leave since Michael didn’t have a badge, but after that, Andrew was all Richard’s.
Richard set Andrew to work once he was back after dropping Michael off. They were simple, but boring tasks. At least, it would have been for anyone who hadn’t worked on anything in over a month. Organise basic data for a specific trial? Andrew was all over it.
He loved organising, and it gave him something to focus on as the hours passed. He only asked Richard clarifying questions once or twice when he came upon a strange recording, but beyond that, time crept forward.
Soon, it was the end of the day and the girls who had been in the trail room pretty much the whole time besides when they had greeted Michael, stepped out and stretched.
"Well, that’s the end of your first day. How did you like it, Dr. Nice?" It was Dr. Cox who asked, her blue eyes bright behind her glasses. Dr. Piper was busy making sure to spray herself down with a pheromone suppressant spray. It was more like a spray to get rid of the scent of pheromones. It was useful, but slightly faulty. It only worked on those who didn’t emit pheromones. So, betas, furniture, things of that nature.
"I think my first day was good." Andrew responded. "Uneventful, which is nice. I’ve been experiencing a lot of things recently, so it’s nice to have what I would consider a normal day." Andrew grinned. "It’s also nice to use my brain. I was going a little stir crazy being cooped up inside of the house for a month while my pheromones stabilized." Dr. Cox nodded.
"I can’t imagine what that would be like. I’m sorry to hear that, but don’t worry! We’ll be putting you to good use soon! Either way, I have to go pick up my daughter from her daycare, see everyone tomorrow!" Dr. Cox waved as she headed out, grabbing her bag and jacket as she left. She seemed in a rush and Andrew furrowed her brows.
"Is the daycare far away?" Andrew asked and Richard sighed.
"Well, her daughter got into some trouble at the one closer to here, so she has to go to one further away." Andrew had no idea what that meant.
