Chapter 80: A true alpha’s dilemma
After finishing up payment, Andrew headed for the bathrooms. The cashier was kind enough to point them out, and Andrew was quite pleased.
With himself.
He had gone into a large store, basically without Maxwell’s help, and he was doing well. Quite well. Sure, he missed Maxwell’s scent, but he had a feeling that even as he got better he would still miss it.
Er, maybe he shouldn’t say get better. Until he...adjusted. That felt a bit more...accepting. He felt like he wouldn’t get yelled at by Michael if he phrased it that way.
Happily, he made his way towards the bathrooms. Like most public bathrooms, the bathrooms were separated by gender. Secondary gender. It would do no one any good if an alpha went into rut around an omega or vice versa, so since they had manifested, this was how bathrooms were set up. There was even a panic room in both bathrooms in case someone felt they were in danger.
As a beta, Andrew could have gone into either bathroom. Now?
He hesitated outside of the omega bathroom, feeling like a creep.
"Is...everything okay in there?" Andrew asked a little loudly, and within seconds Maxwell was pushing open the door and closing it behind him quickly. His eyes darted around before he spoke quietly.
"I need to call Ben, so look after Amir. He seems to recognise you as a family member through me, so your alpha pheromones seem to soothe him. He’s taken the test, but is throwing up because he is freaking out." Andrew nodded, switching out with Maxwell as he pulled his phone out.
Andrew watched Maxwell march away before pushing open the door. He heard someone throw up as he did so.
"Amir? Is it okay if I come in?" He asked tentatively. He knew what Maxwell had said, but he wanted to make sure. There was a soft noise from the furthest stall, and Andrew made his way there.
