Chapter 69: We aren’t, anymore
Michael made sure to swing by the house again after Maxwell and Andrew had informed him of the plan for the next day. Sure, he had given Andrew the go ahead, but he’d made the stipulations quite clear.
Going into a business as busy as the A and D firm was not on his recommended list.
So, he stopped in to help them formulate a plan just in case the worst case happened. Like Andrew basically had a stroke again.
Of course, Maxwell was going to be with Andrew. That was non negotiable. But if Andrew needed to be away from Maxwell for a few minutes, Michael suggested having something that smelled like Maxwell in his pocket. Like a handkerchief covered in Maxwell’s pheromones just help calm him just in case.
Maxwell was incredibly embarrassed by Michael suggesting that, and Andrew didn’t understand why. Until Michael explained it.
As much as pheromones were something that innately came from the body, to get something soaked in pheromones like Michael was suggesting was something a little more extreme. In Andrew’s case it was a part of his treatment. But for the average person?
You had to put clothing that you wanted to smell of your pheromones somewhere specific to get it to stick that deeply. Essentially, Andrew would be walking around with Maxwell’s underwear in his pocket. And he’d actively be sniffing it whenever he got too overwhelmed.
Now both Andrew and Maxwell were embarrassed, but Michael was the one who wasn’t behaving like a child. It wasn’t Andrew’s fault that Maxwell soothed him, and there wasn’t anything wrong with it since they were two consenting adults who cared for each other. Not only that, they were dating, and Andrew’s circumstances were unusual.
So what if some people judged them? It just proved that Andrew cared deeply about Maxwell.
Michael also said he would be nearby at a coffee shop around 2 pm just in case something went wrong and they needed his help. Andrew could tell he was quite upset that he hadn’t been around when Andrew had reacted at the gym. There was some guilt in his gaze when he looked at Andrew, but also a firmness there that made Andrew smile.
With a few more warnings, and making Maxwell promise to make Andrew the handkerchief, Michael left the house for the second time of the day.
