Chapter 24: What monster did they create?
"M-Michael, how are those tests looking?" Andrew asked, desperate for something else, anything else, otherwise he was going to do things to Maxwell with others around. As much as he felt out of control, he never wanted to show that side of himself to others. He also never wanted to embarrass Maxwell.
"Another minute, but I’m slowly coming to a better understanding. Andrew, could you look at me for a second?" Andrew slowly raised his head from the crook of Maxwell’s neck, only to have a bright pen light shone into his eyes. Wincing, Andrew closed his eyes quickly and was surprised to hear Michaels eerie chuckle.
"What did you just find out, Dr. Smith?" Maxwell asked, and Andrew took a few seconds to recover from the bright light shone into his eyes before he was able to see anything but bright lights. Maxwell had turned in his lap to face Michael, while Mr. Newman was white as a ghost. Michael ran his hand over his head, shaking it.
"Well, Mr. Beckett, without that test I can tell you that they’ve turned our dear friend into a fucking true alpha." Andrew’s body went rigid, and Maxwell’s hand tightened around his neck, but he kept his eyes on Michael.
"How?" He asked, and Mr. Newman was the one who spoke up. His lips were trembling.
"Y-Your eyes." He stuttered. Surprise crossed Maxwell’s face.
"His eyes?" He asked, and Michael nodded.
"While your family is known for producing top tier alphas, there is a level above the average alpha. Those are known as true alphas. Some say that they are more primitive in some ways, since their canines are usually twice as sharp as others, and slightly elongated. They also have some other...characteristics that I will discuss with Andy later, but another more obvious one would be that their eyes are slightly reflective, like a wild animal. They also tend to turn an amber shade when they feel intense emotions, but my guess would be since Andrew’s eyes are already brown, and it’s so fresh, it might not be fully locked in yet.
Another thing, which is why others consider them very powerful is that they are able to suppress other alpha’s with their own pheromones. It’s why they are usually found in prominent alpha families, or are adopted when found." Michael hesitated for a moment, before opening his mouth, but Andrew beat him to it.
