Chapter 13: An almost alpha
Whatever Tracey had given him, Andrew knew had to not be on the market. The side effects were too strong and awful, and it clearly hadn't gone to human testing yet considering he had a massive nosebleed in the car that could have killed him if a medical professional hadn't been there. Andrew had no idea why someone with medical training had been in the car with them, but he'd been barely conscious, and barely able to comprehend what anyone was saying to him.
The only reason he felt he could understand or hear Tracey was because her voice was familiar to him. He hated that now.
He wondered where she'd gotten the medication she had drugged him with. If this was an untested product like he was assuming, who made it? Did she make it? Did she hire someone to do so? He knew Tracey was smart, but he didn't know how smart. They'd never discussed their jobs in detail, and her job hadn't been front facing, so he had no idea. Where she had almost every idea about him.
Andrew wanted to laugh at himself, but he couldn't even do that. He had been tricked so fully, and drugged. He had left his phone behind in the café, he couldn't move his body or see, and he was basically deaf and blind. He just hoped it wasn't permanent. Hell, he just hoped he didn't die.
"Shh, Andy. I'll take good care of you." Andrew wanted to flinch away from her touch. He couldn't feel her touching him, but he knew she was. It made him want to throw us. What exactly had happened for all of this to transpire? Why had Tracey reacted this way? What was her end goal? What did perfect mean?
Andrew had no clue, and he was terrified to find out.
"Tracey, leave him alone. He's bound to be having adverse reactions. You said this didn't work on betas that well." Tracey growled, not liking what the other person said. Andrew couldn't tell if it was a man or a woman speaking.
"He won't be a beta for long. You already saw it, didn't you? He almost reacted like an alpha." Andrew's heart dropped into his stomach. Oh god no. No no no no.
He'd known that Tracey was...a little strange when it came to alphas and omegas, but it had never been obvious. At least, it hadn't seemed harmful. She followed a few scientists who were well known in the field, along with some celebrities, but everyone did that. Even Andrew was known to keep up with some of the drama going on in the celebrity world. But this?
