Barbarian Queen Conquest: Reborn as a Female Barbarian [OP MC LitRPG Isekai]

Chapter 78: Pocket Dimension

-----

Brunhild did not like how calm Freyja remained about the situation, but she chose to trust her as she always had. “Huh...” Brunhild turned her attention to Sylvanus. His cute eyes stared back at her with innocent curiosity. “Hmm...” She reached out and touched him again, searching for any trace of her family within the spirit. Suddenly, she felt it.

A mysterious force, some kind of strange power, began pulling her hand deeper inside Sylvanus. As it did, she realized that his interior was far vaster than she had ever imagined.

“WOAH?!”

She stumbled back a step in shock, startled by the bizarre sensation she experienced when her hand entered that vast space within him.

Blinking several times, she slowly approached the spirit once more and glanced back at Freyja. “Did Sylvanus develop a very large stomach or something? What is this strange sensation inside of him?”

“Indeed, one of his skills has granted him a unique ability,” Freyja explained. “He can shrink the interior of the treehouse within himself when he transforms into his spirit form. This makes it very easy to carry it around without causing any disturbance. Now that Sylvanus is fully alive, you cannot store him inside your inventory anymore.”

“Really...” Brunhild rubbed her chin thoughtfully and nodded. “Okay, here goes nothing!”

She decided to try it. She walked toward Sylvanus again and leaned her face closer to him. Even though it felt incredibly awkward, she closed her eyes and pressed forward, as if she were about to give him a gentle kiss.

Instead of meeting solid resistance, Brunhild’s entire head phased smoothly through his spiritual body. When she opened her eyes, she found herself staring into a vast, dark space inside him, a spatial void of sorts.

“A pocket dimension?!”

Brunhild stood there completely perplexed and utterly speechless. The interior of Sylvanus was far more extraordinary than anything she had seen inside a spirit before.

“Spirits can do so many incredible things, huh?”

She moved her face and eyes carefully, scanning the emptiness until she found it. Deep within the void, at its center, floated a twisted space containing a beautiful blue sky, a large patch of green forests, a flowing river, and a small mountain, all resting upon a floating island.

And right at the center stood the house. Brunhild extended her spiritual senses toward it. Her perception expanded rapidly, allowing her to reach the house and see clearly inside.

“Let’s see... Is everyone really okay?”

She thoroughly examined the interior with her spiritual senses. To her great relief, everything appeared fine. It was like a pocket dimension where everything remained in peaceful stasis. Time had not stopped, however. They were still sleeping and breathing normally, which made the whole arrangement remarkably convenient.

Even after witnessing all of this, Brunhild could not hold back her reaction.

“What the hell?”

Yes. There was really no other response she could offer after seeing everything Sylvanus was capable of. She moved closer and eventually fell fully inside his space.

“Woaaah!”

With a soft rushing sound, her entire body entered. She did not fall into the black void. Instead, she was instantly teleported inside the house, appearing right in front of the doorstep.

“Wow, awesome,” she said, checking herself over. “It’s really me, not an astral projection! I can just hide inside Sylvanus whenever I want? This is one seriously broken familiar I have obtained! Definitely not something I could ever get in Barbarian Conquest...”

For some time now, Brunhild had been gaining powers, abilities, familiars, and more that were never part of the original game. It had become clear that this world did not follow the game’s strict logic. Instead, it possessed its own unique chaos, and she found herself enjoying every moment of it.

The best part was that it remained fundamentally the same world. Her knowledge from her previous life still worked perfectly here. This allowed her to discover new things while making full use of everything she already knew.

“Now, I think I have gotten too off-track here...” she sighed. “I just fought Alistair, everyone went to sleep, and now I have obtained Sylvanus. One crazy thing after another is really not good for my head. Alistair has a boss, and he likely has even stronger allies down there. I have to prepare for a big fight...”

She walked through the house, quietly visiting her parents, her siblings, and her friends, who were all still sleeping peacefully. After all, it had not even been more than an hour since they went to rest. Unfortunately, she would have to wait until they all woke up before they could depart.

Until then, she planned to review her own growth, inspect her new abilities, and discover what she could do now. Of course, she also wanted to learn more about what Sylvanus, her new familiar, was truly capable of.

She stopped beside Sigrid, who was sleeping soundly and peacefully in Brunhild’s own bed. The girl hugged the pillows tightly and smiled happily even in her sleep, breathing in their scent.

Brunhild sat down close to her and smiled warmly. She gently caressed Sigrid’s face and then leaned down to place a soft goodnight kiss on her forehead. Sigrid was more than just a friend. She had become something like a little sister to her.

“Make sure to sleep well.”

She carefully adjusted the blankets around Sigrid and walked away quietly. As she gazed out the window at the green forest beyond, it looked like a wonderful place for a peaceful picnic, especially compared to the cold winter dungeon they had just left.

“Brunhild...?”

“?!”

However, as she opened the door and prepared to leave, she heard Sigrid’s tired voice behind her. Brunhild felt glad to see her awake but remained worried about her health.

“Ah! Sigrid! It has only been an hour. You should go back to sleep,” she said gently.

“Brun... What happened?” Sigrid asked with a sigh. “I just passed out in the middle of that fight... Ugh, my body...”

“Take it easy for now. You overexerted yourself,” Brunhild replied as she sat down next to her friend. “And well, we won. That vampire was a real challenge though. I really thought we were going to die. At the very least, all the strength I had accumulated until now was finally used to its fullest potential. But your help was also invaluable.”

“Oh, is that so? Well, I’m relieved,” Sigrid said softly. She nodded and rested her head comfortably on Brunhild’s broad shoulder. “But I’m glad you were there for me. You saved my life, you know that? And it was so cool... Well, you’ve always been cool, Brun. Heheh.” She finished by hugging Brunhild’s arm affectionately.
