Chapter 43: Evolving Dozens Of Relics
-----
Ylva hurried toward me, carrying the many artifacts I had lent to the villagers. “Brunhild, some people managed to learn a few spells! Do you need these back?”
“Just the boots,” I replied. “I want to evolve the rest.”
“Evolve…?” Ylva raised an eyebrow but shrugged. “Sure, go ahead. How exactly are you doing that? Won’t it take time?”
“Nah, it’ll be done in a flash,” I said with a confident smile. “Now, let’s see…”
The special artifacts I had secured in my earliest years—by telling my parents exactly where to find them—had become the cornerstone of the village’s growth. Thanks to them, everyone recovered from illness through the Healing Light Spell, and some had even learned basic offensive and defensive magic such as Fireball and Holy Barrier.
I had poured all my effort into mastering these spells before sharing them with the rest of the village. Now, they stand as the foundation for a new generation of magicians. My closest friends, Ulf and Kara, had benefited greatly from the Fireball Necklace, quickly learning the spell themselves.
Beyond that, the Flying Boots offered unmatched mobility and protection in the air, while the Holy Scepter remained the finest tool for both healing and exorcising evil. These items were my trump cards from the very beginning, yet they had also become a vital source of strength for the entire village. Even without any system, these artifacts alone would have given me the power to help my people.
In total, the collection included the Winged Boots, Fireball Necklace, Elixir Potion, Mana Diamond, Holy Scepter, Rafflesia Bracelet, and Forest Wyvern Fang. Each one was a powerful item bound to unique Skills that could be taught to others. My family had risked much to obtain them—my father raiding a Goblin Nest for the Fireball Necklace, my mother and sister battling through Zombies in an Abandoned Cathedral to claim the Holy Scepter. Those victories had granted the village both magic and reliable healing.
The Mana Diamond, a near-endless source of mana and liquid mana, had fueled our potion-making and spellcasting for years. Lately, however, its output had begun to dwindle. The Elixir Potion, which I had yet to use, was another prime candidate for evolution—its contents could be refined through alchemy into many more life-saving vials.
And then there were the Winged Boots, the supreme tool for short-term flight. I would be taking them with me.
“Now… all gathered together.”
None of them were the highest rank, so evolving them all at once wouldn’t endanger me. Just to be safe, I drank several Mana Elixirs and steadied myself.
“Evolve!”
FLASH!
In mere seconds, every item before me transformed into something far stronger and more magnificent. I felt my mana and divine power surge out of my body, pouring into the artifacts as they hungrily absorbed the energy.
The first I examined were the Winged Boots, now reborn as the Winged Wind Spirit Boots. They shimmered with beautiful green and gold accents, spirit wind jewels embedded along their surface.

“What the fuck?!” Ylva and I blurted out in unison. This was beyond incredible. By my estimate, the massive bottle could yield thirty uses or more.
“Incredible… All the items evolved!” Ylva exclaimed. “And this Elixir is the most amazing of all—but the others are just as extraordinary! Brunhild, how in the world did you do this?!”
“It’s a Trait I obtained,” I explained. “Even I don’t fully understand it yet. Let me see the rest. Oh wow—this is what the Mana Diamond became? It’s enormous!”

“This is unbelievable! Everyone can benefit from this. We’ll place it right in the center of the village!” I told Ylva, quickly explaining its new abilities.
“Wow, absolutely! We’ll move it near the Awakening Crystal—that’s another precious treasure for us. Wait, could you evolve that one too?!” she asked excitedly.
