Chapter 33: Death(?)
Mia appears right in front of Risa, having finished consuming her mana potion. Mia settled her feet on the ground, lowering her center of gravity as her hand tightened the grip on her shield. Risa rolled out from behind Mia as the shadow spear met Mia’s shield. Mia grinds her teeth as the shadow spear pierces her shield like it was paper. The spear went through her arm, pulling it straight out of the socket.
Fresh red silky blood spilled out of Mia's left shoulder, and a disturbing scream left Mia's lips. Pain assaulted her brain in every direction, her mind slowly going blank from the loss of blood. Mia falls to her knees as she tries to grab her healing potion.
“DEAR!”
“BABE!”
Both Risa and Frenley scream out at the sound of her scream and the sight of her having one less arm. Frenley sadly could not go back to support her, as he rushed towards the boss before it could do any more of its long-range attacks. Risa, on the other hand, stayed close to Mia as the tall woman grabbed a healing potion and drank it.
Risa killed any spider that came to them with the butt of her staff. Then they were free of any attacks from spiders, Risa turned to face the spider that Frenley was fighting by himself. She could not see the shadow of the spider from here, so she channeled her magic and shot a magic shard at the spider woman. The moonlight shard travels across the room at record speed, striking the spider woman on the chest. This caused her upper body to lean back a bit.
Mia, behind Risa, was slowly regrowing her arm; the sensation of tendons, muscles, skin, bones, and nerves sent brand-new sensations that sent shivers of disgust down her spine. It didn't take long for her to have a new arm replace her old one. New blood circulated through her body as she turned around and took the broken shield out of her old, dead arm.
The shield was slowly repairing itself. She stood up and patted Risa's shoulder as she rushed to help out Frenley. Her movement is a bit slower than normal. Risa followed her lover as the two of them dodged spiders and spider webs to reach Frenley.
The fey in question was dodging attacks left and right made by the spider woman. His sword blocked attacks where he could, while also trying his best not to get trapped in any spider webs. Which was getting harder and harder to do as the spider woman slowly corners him.
But before he was forced to dodge into a spider web, Mia arrived as she tackled the spider's leg with her newly repaired shield. Frenley smiled as he went invisible and buffed himself again with the sinful flame. He drank his mana potion as he rushed towards the spider woman. Risa, while all of that was happening, was dodging and killing spiders, waiting for the right moment to strike.
She could see from her current position the spider woman’s shadow much better as the spider woman raised her hand to cast one of her shadow spells at Mia. Risa jumps into action as she channels her mind into her new spell. The shadows' spears grew out of the spider woman’s shadow. Arachne's left arm was fully outstretched, her fingers spread.
Risa’s shadow spears flew from the ground and hit the spider woman's outstretched arm. The spear digs deep into the flesh, blood pouring out. The Arachne took a few steps back as she screamed from the pain. Frenley emerges from invisibility and delivers a strong attack on one of the spider's legs; the leg bends the wrong way as the spider woman falls to the side.
Mia took this opportunity to rush towards Frenley, the fey looked at her as he smiled. He bent to one knee, Mia jumped off his leg, and delivered a devastating attack on the spider woman's head. Her mace digs into the soft skin, the Arachne’s blond hair floating as blood and teeth spilled out of the spider woman’s mouth.
Frenley caught the falling Latina, groaning as gravity made her body feel heavier. He set her down, the two of them not having enough time to smile or talk to each other as more spiders crawled out of the walls and rushed towards them.
Risa finished drinking one of her mana potions as she killed a spider by stepping on it. The Arachne screams at them, her mouth slowly becoming wider as spider fangs grow out of it. Blood spilled out of her mouth as her jaw became dislocated.
“Die in the name of the holy mother!”
She screams with rage and conviction as the heart hanging from the ceiling beats faster. The rooms change even more, the walls becoming pink, revolting flesh. The shadow spider webs disappear, and the heart beats faster. Blood started to fall from the ceiling, like rain on a cloudy afternoon. Blood drops ran down the faces of the trio, their hair getting wet with sticky, metallic blood.
The spider woman grabs her waist, the place where her human torso and spider bottom meet. She started to pull herself. Her body is slowly separating itself. Strings of flesh and of tendons started to break apart as the woman fully separated her two halves. The human half floated in the air, and the blood leaving her body started to coagulate into tentacles that kept her afloat. Some of the blood moved to her left hand and healed it up.
The spider half falls down, dead, with red blood spilled out of it. The human half started to laugh as she gathered the dead spider half’s blood. The blood started to float towards her, forming a large ball of blood behind her. The heart beat of the mansion beat once more, this time stronger and louder. Deafening the party for a second as they cover their ears, Risa was the most affected by this.
As she dropped down to her knees, covering her ears as blood trickled out of them. By the time Mia and Frenley focused back on the human half, it was too late. She rushed towards Mia, and she struck Mia with her left arm. The woman’s arm was grotesque and mutated as she pumped some blood into it. Mia's armor shatters as she is sent flying towards one of the flesh walls.
Blood ran down from the corner of her mouth. The tall woman tried to reach for her pouch and heal herself, but she couldn't, as the flesh walls grabbed her like a prized thing, slowly pulling her into their fleshly embrace. Frenely was too far away to help out his lover. The human half of Arachne moved her hands around as if she were painting something.
Blood came out of the orb behind her as it formed into large shards that flew towards the Fey. Frenley shot one of the shards down with his own magic. Causing it to explode into crystallized shards of blood. He could dodge the others, but doing so would put Risa in danger. So Frenley held his ground as he tried to block one of the blood shards.
But the force behind it proved to be too strong as it pierced his right arm and pulled it out of the socket. Another one pierced his leg and pinned him to the ground. He screamed in pain as tears ran down his face. The last shard flew past him, brushing the side of his cheek as it hit Risa on the chest. Pinning the woman down on the floor.
“DEARS!”
Frenley screams, the pain of his wounds minuscule compared to the pain of seeing his lovers in pain. He turned around, trying to use his left hand to cast another spell. But he couldn't, as blood slowly left his brain and his body started to shut down.
The last thing he heard was the evil laughter of the human half of the Arachne.
“Let my magnum opus be born.”

Frenley breathes in a sharp breath of cold morning air as he sits up in his large bed. Sweat rolling down his naked body. The nightmare he had was slowly fading from his mind; he felt movement to his right. He looked down to his left and saw his girlfriend, Risa, lying in her naked glory, holding tightly onto the blanket. Her fox ears twitched in her sleep. Her eyes opened halfway as she looked up at him.
“Um…had a nightmare, babe?”
“Yeah, sorry for waking you up. Go back to sleep, my dear fox.”
“Um..”
The kitsune closed her eyes as she went back to sleep. Frenley chuckled softly as he got out of bed as quietly as possible. He grabbed some underwear and a pair of shorts. Putting them on before leaving the bedroom. He closed the door behind him as he walked towards the kitchen. The sound of the TV slowly entered his pointy ears.
New plays from the TV, something about, thanks to the United World Government, climate change has been defeated. Prices continue to reach a new record-breaking low. The economy is doing better than ever with the adoption of clean energy. All things that Frenley enjoyed hearing. Ever since he met his girlfriends years ago, the world has been getting better.
They were even able to buy a house together. Frenley arrived in the kitchen, resting his body on the wall as his eyes looked at the tall, tan woman. Mia has her long hair tied up in a bun, moving her hips back and forth as she cooks something. She felt someone looking at her and turned to see her boyfriend. She was wearing an apron that read “Kiss the Chef”.
“Morning mi amor~.”
“Morning, gorgeous, what are you making?”
He said as she walked towards her, he grabbed her neck and brought her down so he could kiss her cheek. Mia giggles as she turns to kiss his lips. The lovely kiss lasted but a second before she went back to cooking.
“Now that is the kind of kiss the chef deserves!”
“Haha, you never answer. What are you making?”
Frenley said as he walked towards the table and helped set it up.
“Some toast, eggs, and bacon.”
“Classic American breakfast.”
“It's not America anymore, love, it's the United World Government.”
“I know, I know. You know what I meant.”
“Hehe, yes, I do.”
Frenley finished setting up the table. He got some juice from the fridge and set the cups down. He filled the cups with juice. By the time he was done, Mia was also done. Placing the right amount of food on three plates. Risa and Frenley ate close to the same amount of food; Mia ate a bit more since she was bigger.
Mia placed the plates down, drying her hands on her apron. Soon, soft footsteps entered their ears as an awake Risa joined them. She was wearing a long, baggy t-shirt, and by the design, it seemed to be one of Mia’s shirts. The kitsune yawned as she walked towards the table. Kissing her girlfriend and boyfriend before sitting down.
Mia took the apron off as she sat down with her partners. They held each other's hands as they closed their eyes. Mia never left her religion, and neither Frenley nor Risa wished to take that away from her. Mia said a small prayer, one that, even after all these years together, Frenley has never learned or been able to memorize.
‘I really need to learn it, which is weird because it's been years since she started doing it. It is even the same prayer. Gods, I need to pay attention.’
But by the time he focused on her words, the prayer was done, and they could start eating. Frenley ate his breakfast quietly, as the girls talked and bantered with each other. He only ever spoke to add his own opinion or to make a joke. But his mind was mostly occupied with what he would do later today.
‘Today is the day I proposed to them.’
