Extremely bad news
Today, just as I was sitting down to write the next chapter, I got an email from Amazon saying my account had been put on hold for suspicious activity, and they needed my payment details to verify it.
Since I've never used that account for anything other than KDP, it felt completely out of the ordinary. I logged directly into the website, and the hold was real. I followed their entire procedure and provided everything they asked for, but they still went ahead and closed my account.
After looking into it, it seems this might have happened because I used my brother's card to pay for ads a couple of times. Just like that, I lost my account, my KDP dashboard, and about $600 I had sitting in there.
A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
I'm currently trying to appeal the decision with Amazon, but I really don't know how it will go. I'm honestly incredibly sad and stressed right now. If any of you have any suggestions, please let me know.
Because of all this, I might not be able to write any new chapters for a few days. I'll do my absolute best not to delay anything by more than a week.
If I don't get a response from Amazon, my only option will be to republish Book 1 under a completely new account.
