It had been six months since Mark and the others had left. Flinx had remained diligent with his dungeon delving and only stopped during the rest days he had assigned himself, which were two days a week. During those rest days, he would spend his time relaxing, either by himself or by playing with David, Keero, Arcios, Violet, Ambrose, and Christopher.
The four children were doing well in school and, according to Olivia’s reports, had not experienced any issues with the other students. Technically, they were the only orphans among their classmates, which would normally make them targets for bullying. However, the families of the other students had warned their children not to cause trouble with David, Arcios, Keero, and Violet. Their guardian was a powerful Diamond Rank wizard, and that Diamond Rank wizard was connected to a group of powerful Gold Rank adventurers who had been causing trouble in different cities across the kingdom.
The guild had finally realized that Flinx was the only model adventurer among those who had come from his country, considering that the others had caused various problems. When Flinx heard about it, he could only shake his head. He had expected something like that to happen.
The only reason he had not caused any trouble himself was that he had a goal he needed to accomplish after transmigrating to this world. He needed to reach a high enough level as quickly as possible so he could rescue his fellow dungeon miner slaves from Earth.
Even now, he still had a goal he needed to achieve, which meant his hands were tied and he could not afford to be distracted by unnecessary troubles. He would have liked to act freely and cause problems in his own way, such as rescuing slaves, helping orphans, and doing other good deeds. He was naturally someone who wanted to help others and probably would have used his powers to become a heroic vigilante in this world, which most likely would have resulted in his death.
At the very least, by keeping his head down because of his goal, Flinx had managed to learn that the powerful figures of this world were not people he could underestimate. He could not afford to become arrogant and look down on them. He could only hope that the troubles the others were causing were not severe enough for powerful individuals to take action against his fellow Earthlings.
During those six months, Olivia fulfilled her promise to her girls and hosted several vacation days at the compound a few times each month. With Flinx’s permission, she even allowed the three girls to bring their families during those visits.
Thankfully, the compound remained in excellent condition because the eight servants kept the place well-maintained. Flinx did not even need to summon additional servants, but he still had to maintain the plants by casting his Wish spell and replicating the necessary Druid spells to keep everything healthy.
Fortunately, the Druid spells required to maintain the compound were all low-level spells, so replicating them using Flinx’s most powerful Wizard spell, Wish, did not cause any side effects.
Flinx did not even need to replace any of the solar lights. If they failed due to wear and tear, he simply repaired them using the Wizard spell Mending.
After six months, Olivia’s shop had earned 156,000 gold coins. Flinx kept sixty percent of the earnings, which amounted to 93,000 gold coins. His current gold coin savings had reached a massive 141,000 coins. Meanwhile, the remaining funds in his System Shopping Site totaled 155,000 dollars. The cost of restocking the shop’s inventory over the last six months, along with some miscellaneous expenses, had already been deducted from the previous amount stored in his System Shopping Site.
Olivia was extremely happy with how much she had managed to save. She admitted to Flinx that, even after accounting for household expenses such as food, the clothing shop’s rent, the children’s tuition, and the salaries of Olivia’s three shop girls and the compound’s eight servants, she could now be considered a wealthy woman.
Olivia would have been even happier if Flinx had followed her suggestions and increased the shop’s product inventory. However, Flinx remained firm about not adding more products that came from his System Shopping Site. He did allow Olivia to add items using her own money, as long as the quality was good enough that they would not negatively affect the three original products: the scented soaps, scented candles, and mesh loofahs.
She eventually added incense and perfumes from a source she had found herself. Since she used her own savings to purchase those items, all profits from those products belonged to her. Flinx inspected them and found that the quality of the items Olivia had chosen was excellent.
Regarding mana stones, Flinx had gathered a tremendous amount after six months of intense dungeon delving, even after paying his taxes. His total savings of low-level mana stones had reached 6,571. His medium-level mana stones numbered 5,856, while his high-level mana stones reached 2,536.
Flinx had also collected a total of seventy magic items from the dungeon. He identified all of them and paid the guild 15,000 gold coins in taxes for them. The items were now gathering dust inside several chests in his room. He still had not properly reviewed them and planned to do so once the others returned, allowing him to keep whichever items he found useful or interesting.
The greatest thing that happened after those six months was that Flinx had finally leveled up his two classes enough to reach a total of twenty levels. Even after gaining several levels, the final floor of Mara’s Dungeon continued to provide enough experience points for him to accomplish his goal within six months.
The only conclusion Flinx could reach was that the blessing from the gate that brought him to this world was truly overpowered.
Flinx’s Wizard class had reached Level 12, with 80 percent experience progress toward Level 13. His Cleric class had reached Level 8, with 2 percent experience progress toward Level 9.
Once Flinx reached a total of twenty levels, he was extremely tempted to use his seventh-level Wizard spell, Plane Shift, to return to Earth. However, he became deeply concerned that doing so might somehow cause him to lose his transmigration abilities, meaning he would no longer be able to return to Ilioven.
It was one of the theories that some of his fellow Earthlings had discussed. Although Flinx did not truly believe that would happen, he decided it would be better to return with some of his fellow Earthlings accompanying him.
At first, Flinx did not know how to inform the others that he had reached twenty total levels. Then he remembered that the others were accompanied by his earth elementals. He successfully communicated with the elementals and instructed them to inform the others that he had achieved the required levels to return to Earth.
He simply asked the elementals to write the number twenty on any surface that the others would definitely notice. Soon after, he received confirmation through his connection with the elementals that they had successfully delivered the message to his fellow Earthlings.
Flinx decided to rest while waiting for everyone to arrive. During that time, he purchased all the spells he had not obtained yet. A large number of his mana stones were spent on purchasing spells for both his Wizard and Cleric classes, but he did not regret it. The mana stones were earned through his own efforts, and using them for his growth was the entire purpose of obtaining them.
Two days later, the first group to arrive was Mark’s group, which included Peter. Flinx knew that Peter was the person who wanted to return to Earth the most.
The moment Mark’s group entered the compound and saw Flinx sitting in the open-air gathering tent they had built beside Pondy, they immediately ran toward him.
