Dungeon Miner Slave

DMS Chapter 137

DMS Chapter 137

Thankfully, the presence of twenty new adventurers didn’t cause much commotion in the government offices of Ilioven. Since the city was a hub that hosted tens of dungeons, it was understandable that plenty of adventurers gathered there to brave them.

The government staff didn’t even question why they were already inside the city, since normally non-citizens of Ilioven would be given a temporary permit by the guards stationed at the gates, and then the person carrying the permit would need to apply for a longer-duration permit in the government stations that littered the city to stay in Ilioven for a much longer time.

It basically appeared that Flinx’s “countrymen” bypassed the gates to avoid paying the entrance fee, but such things were normal enough. The fact that Flinx was a Diamond Rank adventurer made the staff not bother about such a small thing. Besides, Flinx paid for everyone’s permit and even added onto the amount to treat the staff to drinks once their shift ended. The amount was large enough that it caused the overworked government staff to smile.

All in all, Flinx was charged 1000 gold coins for everyone’s permit, but he paid 1500 gold coins. Because of the spell Comprehend Languages, Flinx’s fellow Earthlings were able to read the permits that were given to them. The staff reiterated to everyone that they needed to renew it before the six-month duration ended.

Because of Flinx’s high adventurer rank, the permit applications went smoothly. Their next step was to return to Flinx’s tower so they could talk to Flinx’s neighbor about buying the land beside Flinx’s lands.

The old couple nobles who lived there were amiable enough. At first, they didn’t want to sell their land, but when Flinx offered to buy it for 5000 gold coins, the high price persuaded the old couple to part with their home. Flinx bought his land for less than 1500 gold coins.

He added a condition to the old couple that, for such a high price, they would need to vacate their home immediately. The old couple only agreed when Flinx added another 1000 gold coins.

With the help of their servants, the old couple vacated their dilapidated mansion within an hour. Flinx asked the old couple to make sure that there was nothing valuable left in their manor because his “countrymen” would destroy the manor.

Apparently, 6000 gold coins were enough to dissolve any attachment that the old couple had for their home. They told Flinx that they planned to move in with their children, who were living in another place that had a much lower cost of living, and the gold coins he offered them would make sure that they would be living their own age in comfort.

In truth, Flinx didn’t think that 6000 gold coins were that much. Olivia, who joined him when she learned that Flinx planned to purchase the land beside theirs, told him that he was out of touch with how normal people lived. Such an amount would allow the old couples to live extravagantly for twenty years.

With the Earthlings listening, Olivia taught them the value of gold coins. Flinx had to admit that such knowledge was important for each one of them to learn. Flinx didn’t care too much about it since his access to the System Shopping Site caused his perception of gold coins to be not very important.

To Flinx, the only use of gold coins was to pay some of the tax that he incurred. After Olivia taught them about the value of things in Ilioven, she left to return to her shop, and Flinx and his fellow Earthlings busied themselves destroying the manor.

Twenty spell casters made short work of the old couple’s dilapidated mansion, and Flinx’s summoned elementals threw the garbage to the assigned garbage dump. The destruction of the mansion allowed the Earthlings to practice their spellcasting. It did cause a commotion, but Flinx did warn his neighbors that the mansion would be destroyed and would cause some noise.

Thankfully, the destruction of the mansion only took them an hour. More than that, and more than likely, some of his neighbors might complain.

Cleaning the land also took them an extremely short amount of time. The Druids among them even cast spells to make sure that the land was filled with soft grass.

After that, five Galder’s Towers with different designs appeared on the land. Flinx was highly amused at the appearance of the towers. One of them looked like a modern building, another one looked like a cyberpunk structure. The third one looked like a typical medieval wizard’s tower, and the fourth one looked like a tree. The last one looked like a spaceship that was parked horizontally.

Flinx knew that there was a chance that his fellow Earthlings would change once in a while. Each one of them knew that to make the Galder’s Tower permanent, they would need to maintain it for a year, but he did tell them that if they slotted the spell on a higher-level spell slot, the duration to maintain the spell would be reduced tremendously.

He didn’t offer to cast the spell for them since once they started leveling up, they would earn higher-level spell slots, and they could use those to recast their Galder’s Tower spell. One group even told Flinx that they preferred their tower to be temporary so they could change it depending on their mood. They actually had several designs that they couldn’t wait to try out.

The acquisition of the permit and purchasing the land beside Flinx’s were completed before noon. After that, they set up a table beside Pondy, and Flinx treated everyone to lunch. He spent a total of 1500 on food and alcohol, and soon, everyone was roaring drunk, even Flinx.

When Olivia, her two brothers, and the four children returned from the shop, they found Flinx and his “countrymen” on the ground beside Pondy, stinking of alcohol. Christopher, Ambrose, and the four children giggled at everyone’s state, and Olivia just sniffed. They all entered the tower and left Flinx and his fellow Earthlings to their devices.

Before they entered the tower, they marveled at the five new towers that were conjured beside their land. Flinx and the others destroyed the wall separating his lands from his neighbor, so it looked like there were six towers on a single land.

The next time Flinx opened his eyes, he saw that it was already morning. That meant that he and his fellow Earthling spent the rest of the day yesterday drinking, and all night sprawled on the ground drunk.

After a couple of minutes, Flinx ran towards the tree and vomited everything he had drunk and eaten the day before. The noise that he made woke some of the people, and they joined him in a mass vomiting phenomenon that caused the surrounding area to stink to high heaven.

A massive headache appeared, trying to kill Flinx, so he was forced to cast his Lesser Restoration Cleric spell, and the relief that he felt after the spell was cast made him feel like he was in heaven. He was just glad that he was able to cast the spell even if he was severely hungover.

Flinx then spent the next several minutes cleaning himself and the surrounding area using the Prestidigitation spell.

When everyone had woken up, a flurry of spell casting occurred. Those who could cast the Lesser Restoration spell busied themselves in healing their comrades; the rest busied themselves in cleaning themselves using the Prestidigitation spell.
