Flinx simply nodded at what the guild staff that managed the guild warehouse had said about giving him the tally of everything that he had submitted the next day, and then he left. He wanted to get home so he could check the mana stones that he had collected and then rest. When he arrived at his land, he cast Galder’s Tower and headed directly to the washroom on the second floor. He took a long, hot bath to clean and relax. Once he was done, he cleaned his clothing thoroughly using the Prestidigitation spell.
He didn’t want to wear them again since he wanted to relax at home, so he purchased a set of pajamas from his system shopping site for 30 dollars. Flinx noticed that he only had 110 dollars left in his system shopping site, but he just shrugged and would just add more if needed. He cleaned the pajama set with his Prestidigitation spell, then wore it. It felt so comfortable that Flinx decided to jump on the bed. He didn’t even notice when he fell asleep.
When Flinx woke up the next day, he saw from the window that the sun was already up. He thought that he would wake up earlier than that since he had slept early, but he must have been exhausted to sleep for so long.
The first thing that he did was to count his gains from his recent expedition to the forest. The first thing he counted was the mana stones. He earned 24 low-level mana stones and 22 medium mana stones. It was decent since he only spent a few hours in the forest.
After counting his mana stones, Flinx ate breakfast by purchasing a breakfast menu from one of the most famous fast food chains in his system's shopping site. One of the major differences between the most famous shopping site on Earth to his system was, his system included an enormous number of fast food and restaurants where he could order food. That fact alone would most likely drain his mana stones if he weren’t being careful.
When he arrived in this world, Flinx’s total mana stones were around 5000. He already spent more or less 470 low mana stones. He earned around 44 low mana stones and 22 medium mana stones, and that was just after a day of adventuring in the forest. The mana conversion according to his system was medium mana stone to low mana stone was 100 to 1, and high level mana stone to low level mana stone was 1000 to 1. He hadn’t encountered any high mana stones, but he was positive that he could earn the mana stones required to live well in this world using his system.
After checking the mana stones that he acquired, Flinx then turned his attention to the experience points. He sighed when he saw that he had only reached .75 percent till he reached 1 percent before reaching level 8. That pointed out the fact that it would be extremely difficult for Flinx to level up his class, and he had to accept the fact that it would take a long time for him to reach the level 15 requirement to phase shift into the planet where he was enslaved by the wizards to rescue the other Earthlings.
When Flinx was done checking out the experience points, it was time for him to go to the adventurer’s guild to check what rank he reached after submitting all those body parts from the monsters. Currently, his rank started from the very beginning, which was the Iron Rank. The guild didn't even give him the card since everyone knew that he was a powerful mage. It meant that he wouldn’t remain an Iron Rank mage for long, and Flinx did tell the guild that he wasn’t planning on diving into dungeons yet, so the identity card wasn’t important for now.
When he arrived at the guild, Flinx was led back into the guild master’s office.
“You are truly a capable mage, Flinx. You brought in a lot of monster corpses. We will be giving you around 2300 gold coins for everything that you’ve submitted, and the Silver Rank.”
“Thanks. Can I have the coins in mana stones?”
“Sure, but we can only provide you with low mana stones. Medium and above were usually sent to the capital as soon as possible since high-ranking classes needed them.”
“What do they need them for?” Flinx carelessly asked since he didn’t truly know what other people used mana stones for.
Norban, the adventurer guild’s guild master in the town of Beldor, stared at him.
“People use them like how you use them. For creating magic items, for establishing arrays, for creating potions, and even for increasing their class ranks.”
Since Flinx had already made a blunder of admitting that he didn’t know too much about how people in this part of the world use mana stones, he continued asking questions.
“How do people with classes use mana stones to increase their rank?”
The guild master looked at him for a few seconds, which made Flinx uncomfortable, but Norban finally answered him.
“It’s not a secret. Every class has some meditation practice to increase their rank. Normally, it would be beneficial for someone to meditate in a place filled with mana, but if they were rich, they could use mana stones instead. I imagine you’re doing the same thing; that’s why you’re requesting mana stones instead of gold coins. Mana stones are so beneficial to us that if they do not dissipate over time, they could be the currency.”
Flinx was startled to learn that one could use mana stones to increase ranks and thought that maybe he could do the same. He would need to do some testing.
“Even if they don’t dissipate, I think they wouldn’t become the currency due to how rare they are,” Flinx said softly.
“You’re right. It would have been ridiculous to use mana stones to buy a loaf of bread,” Norban laughed.
After Norban gave him 23 low-level mana stones, the total mana stones that Flinx had earned since arriving in this world was 67 low-level mana stones and 22 medium-level mana stones. At first, he planned to head out immediately to continue killing monsters in the forest, but after learning that professionals or people with class used mana stones in their meditation to increase their rank, he had to test it out.
Upon arriving at his home, the first thing that Flinx did was to retrieve a mana stone and check how he could use it to earn experience points. Then he realized that he didn’t meditate to increase his points. He kills monsters for that. He immediately opened his system and asked a question using the search bar. Questions to the system were usually answered by the system, and his system answered him. It informed him that mana stones couldn’t be used to increase experience points for now and would only be able to do so once he reached the legendary level.
Flinx was disappointed, but the fact that his system was giving him a lot of things that he normally wouldn’t be able to get hold of was a justifiable trade-off in his opinion. He would just continue killing monsters then.
After he prepared himself, Flinx went outside his house and dispelled the Galder’s Tower. Then he retrieved his tablet from his 4th tab space and started reviewing the pictures of the last place he went to before he teleported back to the town.
