Chapter 74: Ko-chan’s Revenge (4)
"M-M-My Lady!?" I couldn't believe it, but I was standing across from Matsuko in the void. I immediately jumped into her arms and spun around.
"Ko-chan..." She smiled warmly. "I assume your presence here means Zetsuna's been dealt with."
"That's right! You should have seen it! I sucked her dry and she ran away like a loser!" I bragged shamelessly to Matsuko
Matsuko smiled and looked as happy as if she had done the deed personally. "I guess that explains these, then." She pulled me out to arm's length and examined the iridescent fairy wings that sprouted from my back.
She hugged me close again and whispered in my ear "So, my cute little fairy finally became one for real. I never expected there would be such a day~"
"Ah~ Not so close My Lady~ my ears are sensitive!" I twitched but still smiled and hugged back.
"So. What is the current situation? I don't have enough magic to wake up, and this collar is draining me far faster than I can gather it." Matsuko seemed a bit serious.
"I saved the other three already. We are going to turn your collar white. My ribbons are filled with connection instead of isolation. Naruyo said they amplify magic drawing several times." I recounted how it was explained to me.
Matsuko laughed. "That is just like you. Well, my little fairy, don't wait too long to kiss the sleeping princess. I'll be waiting~" She faded away before I was ready to part, and I was ejected from our spirit's connection.
Hinari looked worried. "...How is it?"
"She's fine for now....She told me to hurry up and wake her up with a kiss." I blushed as I explained it.
Hinari laughed. "How romantic. Shall we get started?"
All four of us combined our power to inject power into Matsuko's petsuit. After an extraordinary amount of time, and an entire crate of magic potions, we finally converted everything but the collar, 'Demoness's End'.
"It's... Not working. It's sucking up everything and not turning white." I slumped down in frustration.
Naruyo frowned. "Power of Isolation. Too dense. Overwhelming Power of Connection."
Sakari fell into thought. "So...I guess there are two options. First is to increase our Power of Connection, and second is to decrease the Power of Isolation."
Hinari frowned "To extract the Power of Isolation would be dangerous. If it infects your spirit you might reject the world itself."
"...I'll do it. I have the Power of Connection, I can balance it out." I stated my determination.
Naruyo shook her head, "Easy to say. Hard to do."
Hinari grit her teeth "You've already risked your life enough, Ko-chan! We can't let you take such a risk again!"
I shook my head. "She's my princess. It's my kiss that has to wake her." I started to extract the Power of Isolation with a ribbon.
Sakari sighed. "Let's share the burden as much as we can. We can all withstand a little of the power."
All three nodded, and took a bit of the strain.
After a few minutes, they had to back off, already gasping for breath.
Hinari choked on air "I can already feel it... Like I don't belong in this world anymore."
I looked around. I wouldn't let my friends suffer like this for my sake. With a few extra ribbons, I latched onto them as well.
Sakari cried "NO! What are you doing, Ko-chan!?"
I smiled. "Don't worry. I know what I'm doing. I'm going to wake my princess finally!"
I leaned forward and finally pressed my mouth against Matsuko's. With one final grasp, I sucked the last of the Power of Isolation out of the collar. The collar turned pure white, and seconds later, Matsuko opened her eyes.
Of course.. in the meantime, I was closing mine...
* * *
"...Ugh..." Matsuko spoke into the other three's minds directly.
Hinari smiled "It's a good thing you can borrow Ko-chan's telepathy, huh, Mistress?" She was currently rubbing and patting Matsuko all over compulsively.
"Hey, will you stop that! I'm not a pet" Matsuko kicked Hinari off of her.
Hinari brushed off her tutu and pouted. "Aww, this is probably the only time I will ever get to see you in such a cute form~"
Matsuko smirked "Don't worry, I plan to see YOU in this form quite a lot when we get through here.
Hinari shivered. "Surely we can talk about this a bit right?"
Sakari stood up, still tied into a reverse prayer. "Hey! How did you turn yours into a tutu! Why am I always the only one tied up and naked!" She struggled but she couldn't get out.
Hinari patted her on the shoulder. "Maybe Ko-chan's fate is rubbing off on you. You should get used to it. Ko-chan said it's not that bad after a while."
Naruyo frowned. "No time for games. Examination complete."
Matsuko looked grim. "What's happening to her?"
Naruyo fell into thought. "Power of isolation. Power to ignore restraints. Mysterious interaction. Merging together. Unknown result."
Sakari stood up. "Can we stop it? I don't want anything to happen to Ko-chan!"
Hinari rubbed her chin. "Stopping it may be just as dangerous as letting it proceed. And we may be robbing her of the biggest chance of her life. I say we keep an eye on it.
Matsuko sighed. "...Let's keep a close watch. If it gets too dangerous, I will ask the ancestor to intervene."
In the bedroom, a small vortex started to form inside Kogamo's body.
