Chapter 54: Bloodline Awakening
The moment Nero, Lilith, Alaric, and Ember stepped back into the chamber, they were met with four expectant, knowing gazes. The founders sat in their usual places, but there was an unmistakable air of amusement surrounding them.
"Well, well," Godric drawled, stretching his arms behind his head. "Look who's back, looking all smug and self-important."
"They certainly are radiating... something," Helga mused, her lips twitching. "Oh, what could it possibly be?"
Salazar smirked. "A reckless display of brilliance, bound by foolish bravery?"
Rowena sighed dramatically. "Ah. That must be it. They've tied themselves together in an unbreakable magical bond, haven't they?"
The four heirs froze. Ember, who had just opened her mouth to explain, snapped it shut. Alaric stiffened, while Lilith cursed under her breath. Nero simply blinked.
"Wait, how do you, " he started, but Godric cut him off with a bark of laughter.
"Nero, my boy, you're practically glowing with ritual magic. It's like watching a first-year try to hide a dragon egg under their robes."
Helga chuckled. "And the rest of you aren't exactly subtle either. Your magic is humming in perfect sync, though I must admit, I'm impressed you managed to make it work so cleanly."
Salazar gave them an approving nod. "And let me guess, the mastermind behind this particular madness is Nero?"
Lilith groaned, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Obviously."
