"You old bastard! How dare you?!" John's eyes widened and he clenched his fists.

Just as the two were getting closer, a hand suddenly patted them on the shoulder, making both tremble in shock.

Lucas looked at his hands in doubt then at the two scary cats. "I would love to see the outcome, but we have business to do."

John looked around in shock and didn't see a car or anything like that. "How did you get here?"

"It doesn't matter, just tell me what happened." Lucas didn't really feel in the mood to waste time and needlessly explain.

Feeling the mockery in Steven's face, John ignored him and responded. "We didn't gather much, maybe you could see something we didn't notice."

Lucas nodded then they all entered the car and drove for the target's house.

While driving John was telling him about the target. "His name is Robert Muller, once a renowned researcher, but one day he disappeared from the face of the world."

"Did you know why?" Lucas couldn't help but ask.

John glanced at him and shook his head. "That's the problem, I tried asking some of my buddies from inside the government, but his file needed the highest security clearance to be viewed."

"That's weird…" Lucas stroked his chin thoughtfully, then he looked back at him. "Maybe he was hiding from someone, and eventually got found."

"Could it be the government?" John asked back, as he knew very well that cleaning assets with too much knowledge was their specialty.

"Unlikely." Steven, who was in the back, added, he got the news that an Alpha was looking for someone, and the next day their target got kidnapped.

"We're here." John said as he stopped the car, in front was a small cabin.

Lucas glanced weirdly at this, and looked around the forest. "A perfect place for a horror movie." He then entered the cabin.

John laughed and glanced at Steven. "Yeah, and this old fool will be the first to die."

"Childish." Steven rolled his eyes then pushed him and entered the cabin.

Inside Lucas scanned the whole space carefully, the place looked like it was hit by a small storm. Then his eyes narrowed when he looked down and saw some scratching marks.

He crouched and touched the marks, he then raised his head and glanced at the two of them. "He was dragged against his will."

Lucas then closed his eyes and took in all the odors inside the room. Although he wasn't as professional as Malia, he was still an Alpha.

Suddenly his eyes opened as he caught a different kind of smell, one that he felt was coming from a beast more than a human.

Steven glanced at his happy expression and spoke. "You got something?"

While John on the side was confused by what he meant, Lucas nodded and got up. "Let's go, I know where they are."

"Then I will call our men."

John took the phone, and just as he was about to call, he froze as Lucas stopped him. "Only the three of us will go, and it's time for you to see the real world."

"What?" John looked at his phone, then at Lucas in confusion.

"Are you sure?" Steven looked at Lucas with a warning in his voice, but he remained silent when he saw him nodding.

"Let's go." Lucas didn't give any further explanation and went to the car.

After driving the car for half an hour, the scent took them to an abandoned villa in a remote town.

As he stepped out of the car, Lucas scanned the house, and couldn't help but feel that every bad guy had a thing with abandoned buildings.

While he was looking around with no care in the world, John and Steven were arming themselves to the teeth.

"We're ready." John came to his side and whispered as he gripped the rifle in his hand harder.

Even though he tried to look like he didn't know anything, he had a vague guess as to what Lucas would finally show him.

Lucas closed his eyes and listened carefully to the sound from inside, then he glanced back at the two of them. "Relax, there are just three people inside."

Steven grumbled inwardly, 'Relax my ass! We are not all Alphas like you.'

Lucas was amused by his expression, then looked at John and saw that he really relaxed a little.

Without wasting any more time, he pushed the gates open and walked inside. After walking through a wild garden, they finally arrived in front of a big door.

Lucas pushed the door, and the sound it made resounded throughout the whole room.

"Great! Now they know we're here." Steven grumbled unhappily, and pointed his gun, ready to shoot anyone who might pop out.
