Teen Wolf:Predator’s Path

Chapter 109 New Ability

Lucas' body trembled constantly as the new energy was being absorbed by his body.

When he received the choice between strengthening an original ability or receiving a new one, he chose the second without hesitation.

Lou Carcolh's potential could reach that of a Skinwalker, so the choice was obvious.

In that moment, almost all of the energy merged with his brain, and a refreshing feeling swept through his head. One that he had never felt before.

It felt like he was free from some kind of destiny, and some shackles broke off from him.

Sovereign Mind. That's what his new ability was called. His mind was now locked behind an absolute, diamond-hard psychic shell.

If anyone tried to get in, it would feel like slamming their head into a solid iron wall.

The Lou Carcolh spent most of its time in solitude, and this ability helped it defend itself from the whispers of time and not go insane.

A smile appeared on Lucas' bloody face. His defense and healing were good, but his mind could have been a major weakness against certain shapeshifters.

Now, that weakness was gone, and he felt his shoulders getting lighter.

Just as he glanced at the creature's body one more time, a faint cry entered his ears. His pupils shrank, and he looked over in the depth of another cave.

"Get your asses in here now!" He spoke into the walkie-talkie, then rushed deeper into the cave.

After dashing a few hundred meters deeper, he finally reached a smaller space. There was a hole in the wall and mucus all around the place.

He glanced in the middle. The mucus was surrounding it like a circle, and inside he saw a bunch of leaves gathered up.

He could hear a faint heartbeat and a cry that kept getting smaller.

He jumped inside without hesitation and quickly threw aside the leaves. His hand trembled when he saw a little boy, around 5 years old.

"Help… me.."

His eyes were closed, but his mouth kept begging for help. The lower temperature from underground made his body tremble constantly.

Lucas didn't hesitate and hugged him, bringing some warmth to him. The little boy unconsciously brought his body closer.

Lucas glanced around, then jumped. He then went back to the place where he fought.

There, he saw Mike and Jordan observing the creature's corpse in amazement. "Give me your jacket!"

They were stunned when they saw the boy, and when Jordan saw that Lucas was looking at him, he pointed at himself in doubt. But he quickly took off his jacket when he saw his murderous look.

Lucas took it and wrapped it around the boy. He could feel the body temperature stabilizing a little.

"I will rush over to the hospital, you two take the body and preserve it!"

"Wait!"

Before the two could ask the reason, Lucas rushed outside.

••••

2 hours passed, and Lucas was now answering some questions from the police. He answered calmly, and the police didn't treat him badly.

The most obvious reason was that the police officer in front of him was the father of the child, and he thanked him more than questioning him.

"So that's what happened." Lucas explained that he was exploring the forest when he found the boy.

"Thank you very much!" The officer's hand was trembling as he shook his. Tears of joy could be seen in his eyes.

Lucas then watched him go inside the room. The family of three hugged each other in joy. His lips lifted slightly, then he quickly looked away.

••••

"Ahh shit!"

Mike quickly retrieved his hand. When he looked at it, he saw that it was burned. He glanced fearfully at the corpse and grimaced as they struggled for hours to bring it into their truck.

"How the hell did he kill this monster?" Mike couldn't help but complain to his partner.

Jordan immediately thought of the roar he heard, but then he attributed it to the dead monster, and he didn't really want to think about it. "It's not our business!"

"Good thinking."

A shiver ran down their spines as they felt their shoulders being patted. They looked back and saw Lucas. He had changed and cleaned himself by now. The only noteworthy thing was that his left eye was still closed.

Lucas glanced approvingly at Jordan, then at Mike. "You guys took your time." He glanced at his watch, then at the body.

"We.."

"I don't need an explanation… just get the body into a freezer and send it personally to Steven."

He put his hand in front of them, then gestured for them to get going. The body had its value; he couldn't just leave it here.

As he was thinking, the car lights were slowly fading in the distance, and only darkness remained in the forest.

"There's only one more thing to do."

His left eye opened too and flashed brightly in the dark.
