Chapter 134: Starfall prophecy
It had been three days since the crack in the sky appeared, and the royal family's once-relaxed palace now buzzed with fear, urgency, and enough magical defenses to blind a god.
Selene stood atop the highest tower, her silver hair whipping in the wind. Beside her, Cain stared silently at the crack above—the sky now bruised purple, stitched with cosmic light.
"The sky's bleeding," he muttered. "It's never bled before."
Selene turned to him. "Do you think it's the prophecy?"
Cain nodded slowly. "The one about the 'Children of Flame and Thunder... and the Twins Who Break the Night.'"
Down below, the twins weren't taking things seriously enough. At least, not according to Cain.
Caelan was sword-sparring with Taru in the training yard, while Azrael Jr. helped Niko reorganize his potion supplies—mostly just to spend time near him, pretending he knew the difference between dragon root and dirty socks.
"I'm just saying," Caelan shouted between swings, "if the sky wants to fight, it can wait until I beat Taru at least once—"
He was disarmed in two seconds.
Taru: "Still undefeated."
Meanwhile, Rina had gathered the castle maids and declared herself "General Firecracker of the Royal Defense," wearing a cooking pot as a helmet and leading drills with a mop.
