Sons of a devil

Chapter 116: The rise of ash and blood

The skies over Valemir were no longer blue.

They simmered with the burnt orange of firestorms and crackled under clouds heavy with wrath. Screams from distant rebel outposts drifted into the wind, carried like haunting lullabies.

The land wept for its king and queen.

And their legacy answered with fire.

Cain stood in the war chamber, hands pressed to the cold stone table. Selene paced silently behind him, her brows furrowed, her magic thrumming just beneath her skin. The air was too still. Too sharp.

"They've gone too far," Selene whispered. "The twins are no longer seeking justice. They're seeking blood."

"They're their father's grandsons," Cain said grimly. "And they've lost the only people who showed them peace."

Just then, the heavy doors creaked open.

Leo stumbled in, singed, breathless.

"She's gone," he gasped. "Zara's... she's fine. But our daughter—Rina—she... she left."

Selene stiffened. "What do you mean she left? She's five, Leo!"
