Arthur stole a quick glance back, and got a clear glimpse of the massive bear, which looked more like a moving rotting corpse, and worse was that it was radiating a powerful aura that surpassed E-Rank.

"Damn, what is this thing?" He could not suppress his shock.

His bloodline’s activity increased, and from it a suffocating feeling of unease came over him, and a vague thought appeared in his mind, telling him not to let this disgusting creature touch him.

Without realizing it, a faint golden gleam appeared in his eyes, and even though he had not activated his bloodline, his full composure returned to him, the first thing he did was deactivate his sense of smell, for the bear’s extremely foul scent was causing his nose to hurt.

He pushed himself to run as fast as possible, and without any hesitation, headed toward the spider woman’s nest. He had endured her madness and arrogance for a long time, and it was time for her to show how useful she was.

He dodged the obstacles on the way with great ease, and even though the bear was of a higher Rank than him, he managed with great difficulty to maintain a sufficient distance between them.

Suddenly, all the fur on his back stood on end, and he felt the suffocating pressure from the bear grow. His bloodline and instincts set off alarm bells.

He turned and looked at it, and found it with its mouth open wide, and inside its dark throat he saw a round green glow that was growing little by little.

"Oh, shit." He swallowed hard, and without needing to think he immediately understood what was going to happen next.

After just one second, the bear pushed its head forward, and expelled from its mouth a green fireball. It hurtled toward him like a cannonball.

Without any warning he changed his course, barely dodging the fireball that passed directly beside him. He felt its flame touch the tips of his fur, and contrary to what was expected it was not hot, but cold as ice.

The projectile continued its surge, slammed into a massive tree trunk, and made a large hole in it, then in the next moment, deformed red mushrooms began growing from the hole, spreading rapidly across the trunk.

This scene was so shocking that Arthur stumbled and nearly fell, but he regained his balance at the last moment.

’Now I understand why my bloodline was warning me so strongly about the bear, it’s no ordinary creature. No matter what happens, I cannot let it touch me.’ Before he finished his thought, he noticed the bear was preparing to fire a second fireball.

He tensed slightly, looked left and right, then suddenly changed course, barely dodging the fireball, it passed behind him and like the previous time slammed into a tree in its path and the hideous mushrooms began growing on it.

He forced himself to go faster, and did everything he could to widen the gap between them, but the bear continued chasing him at steady steps, and from time to time let out a thunderous roar. Thick saliva sprayed from its mouth, and wherever it landed mushrooms grew.

It opened its mouth wide, and again, fired a third fireball then a fourth, and a fifth, and so on, attacks rained on Arthur from every direction, and despite the difficulty, he managed to dodge all of them.

He raced through the forest like the wind, his long fur danced, and with every step he took he covered several meters. After several minutes of mental and physical exhaustion, he finally arrived at the area where the spider woman’s nest was located.

He hated this place, yet he felt great happiness and relief upon seeing it. His lips curled into a small cunning smile, and he thought, ’I hope she likes mushrooms.’

When only two hundred meters separated him from the nest, all the fur on his body stood on end, and his bloodline warned him that the bear was about to attack again, for it had opened its massive mouth, and spat a fireball, much larger than usual.

Whoooosh!

Calmly, Arthur jumped nimbly to the side, dodging the attack, or so he thought at first, for the moment the green projectile reached his side, it exploded with devastating force, sending him flying away.

He flew through the air for several meters, then fell hard to the ground, rolling like a broken barrel, and did not stop until he slammed into a tree in his path. Dust flew densely around him.

"Damn." He coughed up a little blood, and despite the intense dizziness he felt, he forced himself to stand, the moment he steadied on his four legs, he leaned to the side and nearly fell.

He steadied himself, and despite how difficult it was he took a step forward, at that moment, he felt a painful sting in his left flank, instinctively, he thought it was just a wound that had been irritated by his movement.

One sting... two stings... then three. At an astonishing speed, the intensity of the stinging grew and its range expanded, and within moments it turned into hellish pain.

Terrified, he examined the left side of his body, and saw a horrifying sight.

The hideous red mushrooms were growing in his flesh, leaving dozens of holes and extremely disgusting bloody wounds. His expression contorted from the intensity of the pain, and unable to suppress his voice, he howled. "Damn!"

But, despite what he was going through, he was not able to stay standing, the bear was approaching quickly, and he had to flee. He gritted his fangs, and did what he did best—endure.

He moved his legs with great difficulty, and jogged toward the nest, but, unfortunately, he was slower than necessary, and after just two seconds, the bear reached him, and pounced on him with unbelievable savagery.

The ground shook beneath him, and his heart shook powerfully from the intensity of terror, and involuntarily he screamed at the top of his voice. "My lady, save me!"

At that moment the entire nest trembled, hundreds of silk threads detached from it, and surged toward them at a blinding speed. In the blink of an eye, the threads surrounded the bear forming a massive cocoon, restricting its movement.

Roar!

The bear screamed in intense rage, and resisted hard, yet its movements were useless, for more threads continued wrapping around it, increasing the cocoon’s thickness and hardness.

At the same time, several soft threads wrapped around Arthur, and pulled him inside the nest, placing him before the cocoon where the spider woman was resting.

She opened her captivating red eyes, and came out of the cocoon. She stood before him, and with a strange expression stared at the mushrooms growing in his body.
