Chapter 69 : The Empty Bottle
Later that night, Yan stood before a small house near the southern part of the city. In front of him, a missing poster hung on the wall beside the broken door of a rundown house.
The man in the poster was too familiar. It was the berserker that he had captured during the afternoon.
Yan looked at the address on the poster.
Please reach out to the west from here, in front of the first park, if you have any clues.
Yan turned towards the west and started walking.
The park was not that far away. Yan arrived there in no time, and in front of the park, he saw the small house.
Yan walked to the door and knocked.
No one answered, so he knocked again.
Still no one answered. Yan closed his eyes. Spiritual qi flowed into the ground.
Then, after a moment, he opened his eyes and punched the door near the centre.
A hole was made in the wood. Yan grabbed the crossbar, opened the door, and went inside.
There, he saw blood flowing from the other room. He walked and halted before entering the other room, and then he did.
A woman berserker was eating the flesh of a child who seemed to have been dead for long.
Hearing the steps, she turned around, and the smile on her face widened.
Yan's blade flashed and freed her from the mysary.
Then he looked at the empty wine bottle beside the dead child. Yan picked it up and examined it, he observed that a thin green-coloured stain clung to the bottom of the bottle from the inside.
Yan stared at it for several seconds, then he brought it along with him and walked to a nearby shop.
An old man was cleaning his shop with a cloth as dust rose around.
"Mister."
"Where can I buy this?"
The old man halted and looked up towards Yan and the bottle.
"That's Old Wei's Cart Wine."

"Where can I find it?" Yan asked.
"About that... he just roams around the city with his cart. It's hard to locate him."
"Well, if you just roam around, especially around the brothels, you could find people coming back from his cart holding the wine," the old man said.
Yan rushed away right after getting the information and moved towards the direction of the brothel.
When Yan arrived outside the brothel, he did not find the wine cart, so he waited.
He glanced around the streets.
Women wearing perfume occasionally came out from the brothel and grabbed the men who stood outside, pulling them in.
Yan continued waiting until he saw a man coming over, and he was carrying the same bottle, but there was no trace of green liquid in it.
Yan stood in front of him and asked, "Where is Old Wei's Cart?"
The man looked confused. Then Yan pointed his finger at the bottle.
"Oh! He is just selling the wine in the next street," the man said.
Yan did not wait and walked away and arrived at the next street.
There he saw the cart with Old Wei's Cart full of wine bottles, and a young man stood outside.
Around him, drunkards had gathered in large numbers.
"Wine!"
"Wine!"
"Fresh wine!"
He was shouting and grabbing customers.
"Give me first!"
"It's my turn!"
The drunkards lifted their hands and handed over silver as the young man placed bottles into their hands.
Yan arrived at the place and stood at the back of the group, then he moved in, pushing others aside.
"Who are you? It's my turn!"
The drunkards got annoyed, but Yan did not stop until he reached the front of the young man.
"Do you know this bottle?" Yan took the bottle out from his pocket and showed it to the young man.
"This looks similar to the ones you sell."
"I don't," the young man said as sweat ran down his forehead. "These are just common wine bottles."
"Are you sure?" Yan grabbed the young man and pressed him against the wine cart behind him.
The impact made the wine cart vibrate, and the glass bottles moved.
The drunkards immediately moved away, making distance between Yan and themselves.
"Tell me, what do you know?" Yan pressed him a little harder.
"I don't know," the young man said again.
But Yan did not let him go and asked, "Then do you know about the green colour inside it?"
"I don't know..." the man said.
Yan glared at him and then released him.
The young man knelt and panted.
"Hey! What are you doing?" Right at moment, a familiar voice sounded from behind, Yan turned towards the sound.
Luna arrived with a few guards.
"You... I let you go before, and now you are causing a public nuisance," Luna said.
"Officer, please save me. This guy almost killed me," the seller said as he grabbed Luna's legs.
Luna then looked at Yan.
"Guards! Arrest him," she ordered immediately.
The guards arrived near Yan and tied him with rope.
Yan did not resist.
"I knew you were a troublemaker," Luna looked at Yan and said.
"Let's go."
The guards took Yan away from the sight.
Moments later, he was led through the gates of the city guard compound.
Inside, the building was dimly lit by oil lamps, there were countless cells, but he couldn't see any prisoners because the concrete walls and iron doors blocked his view."
" Hand over your weapons" Luna said as one guard came forward and looked at Yan.
Yan looked at the sword that Ren gifted him a moment longer before giving it away.
Then he glanced at one of the rooms, which looked like an administrive room where many guards were present.
Then he was led to one of the cells, Luna opened an iron door, turned to Yan, and said,
"Go in."
Yan halted for a second but stepped through.
Then he heard a voice.
"...Yan?"
He turned.
Tan Suzi stood across the room.
She looked tired but unharmed.
Yan studied her quietly.
