THE SYSTEM IS NOT MINE

Chapter 63 : The War Ends

Commander Yomi stood before the command table while General Han Hian of the Kingdom of Shin remained seated behind it, his gaze was on the letter placed on the table.

For a moment neither of them spoke, and then Han Hian said quietly, “Yomi, you failed to kill him”

Yomi’s jaw tightened.

His hands clenched slightly behind his back.

“Next time,” he said, his voice was steady, “I will not.”

Han Hian studied him for several seconds and then

nodded, “Good ambition.”

He picked up a folded letter from the table and slid it across, “But the next time may be far away.”

Yomi frowned, “What happened? Is it because of this letter from the royal court?”

Han Hian gave no answer but handed the letter to Yomi.

Yomi opened the letter.

The seal of the Royal Family of Shin was unmistakable.

His eyes scanned the contents quickly.

For the first time since entering the tent, his expression changed.

Outside, the wind moved quietly through the enemy camp.

Far away, in the allied garrison.

Chen Yu returned to the tent after going out with the soldier, and when he was back, he no longer cried.

Right then, “All soldiers of Han Defu’s unit,” a soldier shouted outside.

“General Hecta requests your presence at her tent"

The voice was clear.

Chen Yu again walked out.. while others came out as well.

“Now?”

“Did something happen?

“Are we going to another battle?”

Murmurs spread around in the large group that gathered outside.

Chen Yu straightened slightly, though his hands still shook. Yan arrived beside him.

Soon the entire unit moved toward the General's tent.

But when they arrived, a large number of soldiers were gathering from every direction of the camp including infantry, cavalry, cultivators and archers.

Thousands of soldiers slowly filled the ground around the tent leaving no space between the tent and the ground.

" Stay lil back"

"Leave some space"

The two guards at the General Hecta's tent made a space between the soldiers and the tent.

“What is this about?”

“Why summon everyone?”

“Is it about Han Defu’s unit?”

Meanwhile low murmurs spread among the crowd.

Someone whispered loudly,

“The Han Defu unit, they have been targeted must be about that"

Chen Yu’s back stiffened slightly but he kept walking.

Soon they arrived at the destination.

At the center of the field stood General Hecta, her dark armor reflected the fading sunlight.

She waited silently as the soldiers gathered.

Ten minutes passed.

" Silent" she said.

The murmurs slowly died down as thousands of eyes turned toward her.

Hecta took a slow breath then she spoke

“Soldiers.”

Her voice carried across the entire field.

She paused.

“The war…”

Her gaze moved across the gathered army.

“…is over.”

The training ground fell completely silent.
