Chapter 30 : Resonance
A month passed inside the sect.Tan Suzi's visits continued.
Most mornings Yan remained inside the storehouse while Tan Suzi arrived with the same thin manual. The classical letters no longer looked crude to him, He could recognise them.
Especially one.
Ground.
Yet the letter that surprised him was not Ground.
It was Mind.
When Tan Suzi first mentioned the word during her lesson, Yan had shown no reaction. But later, when he studied the script alone, something inside him shifted.
The pattern resonated.
Two letters responded within him.
Ground.
Mind.
Two foundations.
Yan kept that discovery to himself. He did not mention it to Tan Suzi. On the third day after the beating, she brought him a pale brown colored liquid.
“It will heal you” she said.Yan accepted it without question.
The effect was immediate. The deep bruising faded, and the tightness in his breathing disappeared.
By the end of the week, his body had mostly recovered.
The routine resumed.
Each night Lin arrived quietly with the same wooden tray.Twelve glasses of the green liquid.
Yan drank them one by one.
The pain arrived but his body adapted.
More importantly, his system had responded.
Compatibility: 6%
It was a small increase, still some progress was made.
The green liquid was changing something inside him.Yan did not rush to conclusions.
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
Ground and Mind were both foundation letters, Yan tried understanding remaining letters but they felt deeper than the Ground and Mind.
And Today, For the first time, Tan Suzi brought him something different.
Not the classical script manual.
A thin four-page cultivation manual.
Yan sat beside the lantern and opened it carefully.
The pages were filled with letters forming sentences.
Ground — Fire — Mind — Wind — Space — Ground — Time — Wind
Yan studied the pattern.it felt complex.Much more complex than the script manual..
Tan Suzi’s explanation returned to him.
Cultivation manuals did not require understanding every letter.A cultivator only focused on the letters they could resonate with.
The rest were ignored. But not completely. The surrounding letters still mattered.
The Left one and The Right one.
If done correctly, the sequence would guide the spiritual lines inside the body.
The spiritual lines would follow the pattern described by the manual.
That pattern allowed the cultivator to sense qi.
The explanation was simple.
The execution was not.Yan placed the manual on the wooden floor before him.He exhaled slowly.
Ground.
Mind.
He focused on the letters that resonated with him.
The others receded into the background.
Fire.
Wind.
Space.
Time.
Distant.
But still part of the structure, for a moment his breathing slowed.
The storehouse seemed to grow quieter.
Even the lantern flame steadied.
“Yan, did you miss me?, I am back” Then suddenly a shout bolted Yan out of his meditation.
Yan glared at the source. Ren stood at the entrance of the storehouse, breathing heavily.
Dust covered his sleeves and boots.
He looked as though he had traveled without rest.
“There’s news,” Ren said as he touched his knees.
He hesitated slightly.
“I’m not sure if it’s good or bad.”
