Taboo Pokémon Trainer: The Pure White Ralts and the MILF Harem [R18]

Chapter 105 105: The Breeding Center and Swablu(100 Power stone)

After looking at the photo Anna Lee sent, Lorze was almost certain that the Ninetales in the picture was real.

While the vast majority of people only knew Ninetales as a Fire-type, Lorze knew perfectly well that a special regional variant existed.

In this form, Ninetales's appearance changed drastically, and its typing shifted to Ice and Fairy.

The Ninetales in the photo looked much more slender and graceful than the standard Fire-type; it was a dead ringer for the Alolan Ninetales in his memory.

Xue Yi hadn't expected Lorze to confirm the photo's authenticity so readily, and she had grown to trust his judgment implicitly lately.

Or rather, for some reason, she just found herself trusting him more and more...

Little Xue: "So you're saying this Ninetales is actually an Ice-type?"

Lorze: "Even in our world, we have Red Foxes and Arctic Foxes. Why would it be strange for Pokémon to have Fire and Ice variants of Ninetales?"

Little Xue: "But... isn't that just a wild guess?"

Lorze: "Do I really need to write another thesis on 'Species Adaptation and Environmental Extremes' before you'll believe me?"

Little Xue: "Should I... make the trip?"

Lorze: "Go for it. I checked the research team's history; they're reliable professionals. The photo is likely genuine."

Mother Xue: "Since little Lorze is so certain, it's worth investigating. I'll be free in a few days; Lorze, you should come along with us."

Lorze: "I have to go too?"

Little Xue: "You're the one who made the claim; of course you have to verify it in person."

Lorze: "Fine, fine. Just let me know when."

Anna Lee: "WAIT! Are you guys really going to leave me behind? I was the one who brought it up first!"

Little Xue: "You're in Shanghai. What are we supposed to do?"

Anna Lee: "It's winter break! I can fly over in a heartbeat. Wait for me!"

Anna Lee: "By the way, Lorze, that 'thing' you asked for is finished. If you leave without me, you're getting a pile of scrap metal!"

The second Anna Lee heard that Xue Yi was going on a trip alone with Lorze, she felt an irrational surge of panic and immediately demanded to join.

She was inexplicably worried that if she didn't keep an eye on them, three people would go on the trip and four would come back...

The fourth person couldn't possibly be in Auntie Xue's belly, so that only left...

No! I absolutely won't allow it!

Xue Yi is my best friend. I can't let her get knocked up while she's still in high school!

She's being irresponsible to herself!

So I'll just have to be the responsible one for her!

Yes, I'm doing this entirely for my bestie!

Lorze didn't care who she was doing it for. The second he heard the "thing"—the Pokéblock Machine—was ready, he lost interest in everything else.

Lorze: "It's ready? Excellent. I'll be waiting for you~ [Heart]"

Little Xue: "???"

Little Xue: "I smell an affair!"

Anna Lee: "What affair?!"

Mother Xue: "Alright, we'll wait for Anna to arrive before we set out. Lorze, you can head over and pick out your second Pokémon first."

Lorze: "On it!"

Breeding Centers were generally divided into government-run and private facilities.

In most cases, official centers were more expensive, while private ones were cheaper.

The reason wasn't that private corporations were more "charitable" than the government; it was simply a matter of "you get what you pay for."

Official centers guaranteed the quality of their eggs; the Pokémon hatched there were guaranteed to have decent innate talent.

In contrast, the quality in private centers was incredibly inconsistent.

Take the Snowhide Corporation, for example. As a massive research conglomerate, they used a lot of Pokémon for lab experiments.

Once the experiments were over, the Pokémon had served their purpose and were no longer needed.

But releasing them into the wild felt like a waste, so they were often put up for sale in the company's own breeding centers.

While these "ex-lab" Pokémon had no health issues, they had usually missed their "Newborn Phase"—the period of fastest growth—which was why they were priced so cheaply.

However, for a commoner, snagging a "Starter" Pokémon at a discount was still a massive win.

Lorze met up with Xue Yi at the Snowhide Breeding Center. She had already secured a Swablu egg for him, decorated with a signature light-blue cloud pattern.

"This is the Swablu egg?" Lorze looked at the egg sitting in the incubator, feeling a surge of genuine excitement. He couldn't wait to see the look on his mother's face when he handed it to her.

"My mother sourced it personally. Of course it's real. Now, stop obsessing over the gift and focus on picking your own second partner." Xue Yi rolled her eyes. She didn't want Lorze to pick something sub-par; his choice would dictate how far he could go in the future.

"Don't worry. I know exactly what I'm looking for." Lorze replied calmly.

While he hadn't decided on a specific species yet, he had a clear direction.

First, it had to be aesthetically pleasing—or at least fit his personal "taste."

Second, he had to consider the seven Mega Stones he currently possessed. After studying them for months, he had a few guesses as to which Pokémon they belonged to.

To verify his theories, Lorze began a thorough tour of the facility with Xue Yi.

As the "Young Miss" of the Xue family, her presence naturally drew the enthusiastic attention of the manager.

"Miss Xue, are you... bringing your boyfriend to buy a Pokémon?" The female manager was sharp; she saw the way their shoulders brushed as they walked together and deduced their relationship wasn't simple.

"Just show us around. And introduce the history of every Pokémon and egg we see." Xue Yi didn't deny he was her boyfriend, nor did she give Lorze a chance to object, ordering the manager to lead the way.

The manager flashed a "I get it" smirk and began the tour.

They started in the "Starter Area." This section was sparsely populated, as the price of a Starter was beyond the reach of most families. Naturally, the inventory was low.

The usual suspects were on display: Charmander, Squirtle, Torchic, and the like.

According to the manager, these specific Starters had never been in a lab. They were simply eggs that hadn't sold in time and hatched on their own.

This was technically a loss for the center. A hatched Pokémon never sold for as much as an egg.

It was common knowledge that a Pokémon bonded most strongly with the first person it saw. Since these had seen the staff first, their initial "Friendship" was already used up, which many buyers disliked.

Even though the staff tried to tell the Pokémon that their "real family" would come for them one day to keep their expectations high, the price still had to be slashed.

Every percentage point of a discount on a Starter was a massive hit to the bottom line.
