Chapter 113 113: Prologue to the Paramount War
Holy Land Mary Geoise
Pangaea Castle
The Five Elders sat or stood around a tea table. A kettle boiled softly, the sound of bubbling tea echoing in the quiet chamber.
"So… Straw Hat Luffy appeared in Impel Down?"
Saint Shepherd Ju Peter (the elder representing Mercury) spoke calmly as he glanced toward the trembling CP0 agent kneeling nearby.
"Yes, Five Elders!"
The agent, code-named Falcon, knelt on one knee with his head lowered.
Outside, he was a member of Cipher Pol Aigis Zero (CP0)—the highest intelligence agency under the World Government.
In some ways, CP0 even stood above the Marines, capable of confronting Fleet Admiral Sengoku without fear.
But here in the Holy Land…
He was nothing more than a servant.
Nearby, the elder dressed in a samurai robe paused as he wiped down the blade in his hand—Shodai Kitetsu.
Behind his rimless glasses, a cold light flickered in his eyes.
"Why was the information delayed?"
"Have you forgotten our orders?"
BANG!
Falcon immediately slammed his forehead against the ground.
"Reporting to the Five Elders!"
"Impel Down is directly managed by Marine Headquarters, and its security is extremely strict. Therefore—"
He couldn't finish his sentence.
If the massive chaos hadn't erupted inside Impel Down, no one would have discovered that Straw Hat Luffy had infiltrated the prison.
Saint Jaygarcia Saturn calmly took a sip of tea.
"Leave."
Falcon's face lit up with relief as he hurried out of the room.
"Now that we know his whereabouts…"
"Then it's time for us to act."
Another Elder spoke coldly.
"He wants to save his brother?"
"Then we'll turn Marineford into his grave."
"Agreed."
"Agreed."
Saint Topman Warcury looked toward the white-haired Saint Marcus Mars.
"You're the fastest among us."
"You go ahead first."
"We'll follow shortly."
"No problem."
A dark purple-black demonic aura erupted from Mars.
Black smoke swirled around him as a thunderous roar shook the chamber.
His body transformed instantly.
A monstrous creature with a serpent-like body and wings appeared—its long birdlike beak gleaming sharply while its claws shone with deadly light.
A mythical yokai—
Itsumade.
CRASH!
The creature smashed through the mansion windows and soared into the sky.
Below, the Celestial Dragons stared upward in shock as the monstrous silhouette spiraled into the heavens before descending toward the lower world.
"Hm? What is that old man Mars doing?"
Inside a luxurious estate nearby, an elderly man looked up in confusion.
He was tall, with drooping hair and crescent-shaped upward-curving mustaches. Dark glasses covered his eyes, and a Western sword hung at his side.
Around the World
Den Den Mushi broadcasts activated across the seas.
Every nation affiliated with the World Government witnessed an unprecedented scene.
Marineford—a crescent-shaped island with a massive curved harbor.
Now the entire island was filled with armed Marines.
The execution platform towered high above the plaza, the Marine flag fluttering behind the headquarters building.
The Seven Warlords of the Sea stood along the bay walls like an iron barrier.
The towering figures of the Three Admirals looked like the Marines' ultimate shield.
And above them all—
Fleet Admiral Sengoku stood atop the execution platform, overlooking everything.
For the first time, the entire world saw the full military might of the Marines—and their determination to destroy a Yonko crew.
"I told you! There's no way the Marines could lose!"
"No matter how strong the enemy is, they could never invade Marineford!"
Seeing the overwhelming display of power, most civilians believed the Marines would undoubtedly win.
And they sincerely hoped they would.
But some pirates watching the broadcast had a different opinion.
"That's not necessarily true."
"Twenty years ago, the legendary pirate Shiki invaded Marineford and destroyed half the place."
"This time… it might be even worse."
"Don't compare that old man to others."
"He hasn't weakened at all."
"A year ago, just seeing that man once made us abandon any hope of survival."
Among pirates, one belief was clear—
The likely victor was the World's Strongest Man.
Marineford — Execution Platform
When the spark of war—Portgas D. Ace—was brought onto the platform, the world's gaze converged upon him.
"There is something I must announce to everyone."
Fleet Admiral Sengoku held a microphone, his expression stern.
"The significance of Portgas D. Ace's execution here."
"Ace."
"State the name of your father."
Ace glanced at him coldly.
"My father… is Whitebeard."
"No."
"That's wrong."
"There's nothing wrong with it!"
Ace shouted fiercely, his voice trembling.
"My only father is Whitebeard! No one else!"
Clearly, Ace had no intention of answering.
But Sengoku continued regardless.
"At the time, we searched everywhere…"
"Because one year and three months after the death of a certain man, a child carrying the most evil bloodline in the world was born."
Ace lowered his head.
Nearby, Monkey D. Garp clenched his fists as memories of Gol D. Roger's final request echoed in his mind.
But the truth could not be changed.
Facing the Marines, the Warlords, and the entire world watching through Den Den Mushi, Sengoku spoke with thunderous authority.
"Your father is…"
"The Pirate King — Gol D. Roger!!"
The air froze.
Marines, reporters, pirates—
Everyone was stunned.
"The Pirate King's… son?!"
"This is huge news! Notify headquarters! Special edition!"
"Fire Fist Ace is actually—!"
Before the war had even begun, the revelation shook the entire world.
The Arrival of Whitebeard
Far out at sea—
A thick fog rolled across the horizon.
Within the mist, the silhouettes of dozens of massive ships slowly emerged.
"They… they're here!"
A Marine lookout broke into a cold sweat.
All the powerful figures in Marineford began scanning the ocean.
They were searching for one man.
The World's Strongest Man.
"How terrifying…"
Admiral Kizaru leaned back lazily as golden light reflected off his sunglasses.
"Whitebeard."
Glub… glub…
Suddenly, huge bubbles rose inside the harbor.
"Wait—what?!"
"They came through the sea?!"
Sengoku gritted his teeth.
Their first clash—
And this supposed strategic genius had already been outmaneuvered.
THUD. THUD. THUD.
A towering figure stepped forward.
His hair was white and wild. A scar crossed his face.
A massive bisento rested in his hand.
His presence carried both royal authority and the weight of countless years.
Bounty: 5,046,000,000 Berries
The World's Strongest Man—
Edward Newgate, "Whitebeard."
"Gurararara!"
"It's been decades since we last met, Sengoku!"
Then his gaze softened as he looked at Ace.
"My beloved son… are you alright?"
"Ace, you've suffered."
"Just wait a little longer."
"I'm coming to get you."
"Father…!"
Ace's body trembled.
"Why?!"
"You tried to stop me!"
"It's my fault—!"
Seeing one familiar face after another appear, Ace could no longer suppress his emotions.
He didn't want his family dragged into this inferno because of him.
"I told you to go, didn't I?"
Whitebeard grinned.
"Right, Marco?"
"Yeah. I heard it too."
Marco's sharp gaze swept across the battlefield—past the Warlords, the Admirals, and finally Sengoku.
"You've suffered enough, Ace."
"Everyone knows what happens to those who harm our crewmates."
"We won't forgive anyone who hurts you."
"Just wait!"
"We're coming to save you!"
"CHARGE!!"
The pirates roared.
With the Whitebeard Pirates' flag behind them, even Marineford couldn't frighten them.
Meanwhile — The Gates of Justice
A warship passed through the final Gate of Justice.
At the bow sat a young man in red.
The salty sea wind blew through his hair and clothes.
His black-and-red eyes stared forward—as if piercing through space itself toward the battlefield ahead.
"I don't know who opened the Gates of Justice…"
"But we're almost there."
"Marineford."
Sabo stepped beside him and quietly looked toward the distant horizon.
He simply wanted a moment of peace.
Unfortunately, that was impossible.
Ever since Buggy's "Kingly Presence" awakened among the prisoners, the entire ship had become unbearably noisy.
"Long live Captain Buggy!"
"Lord Buggy is like a god!"
The prisoners worshipped him as if reality itself had lost all logic.
Luffy ignored the chaos.
Instead, he stared at a green energy mass floating inside his system space.
Now…
Only you remain, Ace.
