One Piece: SSS-Rank Haki at Age Seventeen

Chapter 230 231 — Demonic Aura and Thunder, A Princess in Love!

Dark clouds pressed heavily overhead like spilled ink.

Azure bolts of lightning rampaged wildly through the sky, while deafening thunder and torrential rain crashed down upon the scorching desert sands.

Sanji hovered in midair, his brilliant blond hair whipping violently amidst the raging currents of wind.

Countless streaks of electricity illuminated him like a thunder god descending upon the mortal world.

"Hey… moss-head!!"

"You'd better not dodge this one!!"

The instant his voice fell—

He moved.

The billions of volts crackling around his body suddenly compressed into his right leg.

In a flash, the entire limb transformed into a blinding blue-white beam of light impossible to stare at directly.

Tearing through the rain curtain, it descended like a falling meteor.

"Electromagnetic: Divine Punishment!!"

Below—

The ground beneath Zoro's feet had already reached its limit.

Spiderweb-like cracks spread wildly outward from him as the earth collapsed.

He lowered his body to the absolute limit.

All three swords in his grip trembled hungrily.

BZZZT—!

Pitch-black Armament Haki instantly coated every inch of the blades.

Black lightning exploded from the guards of the swords, crackling violently around them.

Dense purple demonic aura burst from every pore in Zoro's body, rapidly spreading outward until the surrounding space transformed into a hellish domain.

His closed right eye snapped open.

A violent blood-red glow burned within it, as though the gates of hell itself had opened.

"Whoever dodges…"

A hoarse, exhilarated growl rolled from his throat as the ground beneath him exploded completely apart.

"…is a third-rate pirate!!!"

BOOOOOM—!!!

A massive sonic explosion erupted where he stood.

Zoro's figure vanished entirely.

In its place shot a destructive beam soaring straight toward the heavens.

Rain evaporated in its path.

Lightning retreated before it.

Even the air itself was split apart into a shrieking vacuum corridor.

"Three Sword Style: Purgatory — Hellfire Oni Giri!!!"

Three slashes wrapped in black-and-red lightning.

Phantom hellfire blazed around them while ghostly screams echoed through the storm.

And they collided directly with the descending divine thunder judgment—

Beneath Alabasta's storm-filled sky.

BOOOOOOOOOOM—!!!!!!!!!

A gigantic hemispherical shockwave rapidly expanded outward, forcibly blowing apart the storm clouds overhead and carving a massive hole through the sky itself.

The resulting shockwave spread like a tidal wave in every direction.

Sanji gritted his teeth, lightning erupting from his leg like a miniature sun.

Zoro crossed all three swords before him, demonic aura roaring like an abyss.

BOOM—!

BOOM—!

Two impacts exploded almost simultaneously.

The violent shockwave forcibly tore the two figures apart midair.

And yet—

At nearly the exact same instant they stopped—

Both men raised their heads.

Through the smoke, dust, and chaotic energy currents, their gazes crashed violently together.

No exhaustion.

No hesitation.

Only blazing excitement burned within those eyes.

As though that mountain-shattering collision moments ago had merely been an enthusiastic greeting between rivals reunited after a long time apart.

"HAH…!"

Sanji's mouth curled into a wild grin.

His entire body transformed once more into a bolt of lightning tearing through the smoke.

"I've been waiting for this day—!!"

His roar merged completely with the thunder itself.

"…for a LONG DAMN TIME, MOSS-HEAD!!!"

On the other side—

BZZZZT—!

All three of Zoro's swords vibrated excitedly.

Demonic aura and black-red Haki exploded skyward, transforming him into an Asura returned from hell itself.

Without a trace of hesitation, he shattered the earth beneath him and charged straight toward the lightning once more.

His speed did not lose in the slightest.

The blood-red glow in his right eye nearly burst forth together with his killing intent.

"I HAVE TOO—!!!"

"…CURLY-BROWS!!!"

Thunder and demonic aura collided once more in midair.

No tricks.

No restraint.

Only the full-force explosion of everything that had built up across countless battles and an endless voyage together.

A true all-out clash.

The peaceful atmosphere of the capital was violently shattered by the thunderous explosions echoing from the distant horizon.

Shop windows rattled violently.

Decorations trembled and rang noisily.

Pedestrians across the streets froze and stared in shock toward the storm clouds gathering outside the royal capital.

"Those two idiots—!!"

The jeweled necklace Nami had just been trying on dropped back onto the velvet display with a clack.

She whipped her head around sharply, orange hair flying behind her.

"Didn't they say this was just going to be a 'friendly sparring match'?!"

"So what's with this world-ending apocalypse atmosphere?!"

For those two rivals—

A "spar" and a "death match" were separated by only a paper-thin line.

The overwhelming waves of Conqueror's Haki.

The terrifying sword slashes and lightning tearing through the sky—

How was this sparring?!

They were clearly fighting seriously!

Images of the worst possible outcomes flashed uncontrollably through Nami's mind.

Her face paled slightly as her fists tightened.

What if one of them accidentally lost control…?

"Now, now, Nami."

A warm hand gently rested on her tense shoulder.

Robin remained elegant and calm as always.

Her serene eyes quietly observed the distant storm with calm understanding.

"Don't worry,"

she said with a comforting smile.

"Chopper already brought the medical kit over there."

"And besides…"

A trace of absolute trust flickered within her gaze.

"They may be reckless… but they know their limits."

"LIMITS?!"

Nami's voice rose sharply as she pointed toward another earth-shaking explosion in the distance.

"You call THAT knowing their limits?!"

Robin simply smiled softly without explaining further.

Some understanding could only be forged through countless life-and-death experiences together.

"Hey—! Robin! Nami!"

A cheerful voice rang out like silver bells, instantly lightening the atmosphere.

The changing room curtain swept open dramatically.

Uta spun gracefully in place.

The newly changed pink dress perfectly highlighted her youthful figure, the skirt fluttering like flower petals.

Her signature red-and-white hair flowed smoothly down her waist, swaying gently with her movements.

Under the boutique's warm lighting, her carefully styled appearance looked dazzling enough to glow.

"So? What do you think? Does it look good?"

Her purple eyes sparkled brightly with anticipation as she looked toward her two female companions.

A faint blush colored her cheeks from excitement and embarrassment.

Before either woman could answer, she lowered her gaze slightly.

Her slender fingers unconsciously twirled a strand of hair.

Then, in a softer voice filled with a young girl's nervous sweetness, she murmured:

"Do you think… Luffy would like it?"

The atmosphere suddenly froze.

Robin's calm smile stiffened for exactly half a second.

Even the hand lifting her teacup paused midair.

As for Nami—

All the worry and anger she'd felt toward the distant battle instantly vanished.

Replaced by something much stronger.

Much more direct.

She could physically feel her fists hardening involuntarily.

Meanwhile, deep within the royal palace gardens—

The distant thunder and dim evening light wrapped the flower garden in a quiet, isolated atmosphere.

Vivi's entire body rested within Luffy's strong embrace, deeply nestled against his warm chest.

Her sky-blue hair flowed like a waterfall, several strands brushing lightly against his jaw while carrying the elegant fragrance of royal flowers mixed with her natural scent.

"That…?"

The abnormal energy fluctuations and flashes of light in the distant sky finally drew Vivi's attention.

She turned her head slightly toward the storm clouds and lightning flashing across the horizon.

A trace of surprise crossed her beautiful face.

"It's nothing,"

Luffy said casually, rubbing his chin lightly against the top of her head.

"Zoro and Sanji are fighting again."

"Eh?!"

Vivi's lips parted slightly in disbelief.

That battle was clearly powerful enough to alter the weather itself…

But before she could fully process her shock—

Everything vanished.

Luffy's arm tightened around her slender waist.

Without warning, he lowered his head.

And captured her slightly parted lips in a kiss.

"Mmph…!"

Soft.

Sweet.

Carrying the faint coolness unique to her alone.

That sensation instantly overwhelmed Luffy's senses, causing him to deepen the kiss instinctively.

There was no technique.

Only pure and direct desire.

Vivi's mind went completely blank.

The distant battle.

Her responsibilities.

Her royal burdens.

Everything faded away like retreating tides.

Her long eyelashes trembled violently before finally closing shut.

Almost unconsciously, her delicate arms wrapped around Luffy's neck.

Held tightly within his embrace like this—

She felt an overwhelming sense of safety unlike anything before.

The scent of sunlight and sea breeze lingering around him drew her deeper and deeper into his warmth.

She willingly lost herself there.

Completely.

Time lost all meaning.

Perhaps only seconds passed.

Perhaps much longer.

Only when their breathing grew heated and uneven did Luffy finally pull back slightly.

Their lips parted.

A faint silver thread stretched briefly between them beneath the dimming light.

Yet neither of them truly moved apart.

Luffy's arms still held her firmly.

And Vivi remained nestled against his chest, listening to the quickened rhythm of his heartbeat.

Slowly, she lifted her gaze.

Her sky-blue eyes glistened softly, overflowing with affection and happiness impossible to conceal.

She hugged his waist tighter, as though wanting to merge herself into his life entirely.

In just a few short months…

She had already sensed the subtle changes within him.

The reckless captain who once cared only about adventure and his crew would never have kissed her this openly and possessively before.

That change filled her heart with sweet warmth.

As for whether there might be other women occupying special places in his vast world—

Vivi simply buried her face deeper against his chest.

She understood clearly that she could never accompany him constantly like his navigator, cook, or swordsman.

So if she could hold a unique place within his heart—

If she could receive a love that belonged only to her—

Then that alone was already a blessing greater than she could have hoped for.

She was the princess of Alabasta.

Her love could be broad enough to embrace his endless freedom.

And deep enough to ask only for sincerity in return.

Then, within the silence—

Luffy suddenly spoke.

For once, his voice carried unmistakable seriousness.

"Vivi… I love you."

It was the very first time Luffy had ever clearly confessed his feelings.

Vivi trembled softly.

Then overwhelming joy exploded inside her heart like fireworks, illuminating her entire expression.

She lifted her face from his chest.

The smile blooming across her face was brighter than any flower in the garden.

"Mm!"

She nodded hard, voice trembling emotionally yet crystal clear.

"I do too! I love you… so, so much!!"

Once more, she threw herself completely into his embrace, as though holding the happiness of her entire world.

The distant thunder still echoed faintly across the horizon—

But now, it sounded almost like celebratory fireworks blessing this long-awaited moment of love finally finding its place.
