Chapter 326 Grasping Time Rules
Earth, at Aaron's house.
Aaron held Aeos in his arms while talking with her.
He was telling her about the Fallen Angel trying to recruit him to their side.
She had once been the Supreme Kai of Time and likely knew more than he did.
As for his other wives, Aaron didn't want them to know too much... it would be too tiring for them.
They could just live carefree lives without a worry in the world.
Who ruled all the universes made little difference to Aaron.
The problem was that last time, Zeno had effortlessly erased seven failing universes.
It was only because Goku's tournament caught Zeno's interest that they held a Tournament of Power.
The winning universe could stay, which was how Universe 7 survived.
And the wish on the Super Dragon Balls to restore the seven universes was only a temporary reprieve for those eight low-level universes to linger on.
Because those eight universes were originally slated for erasure.
It was impossible for Mavis to fool him.
But Aaron recalled past events.
Multiple universes, multiple timelines.
Even the former Aeos had considered eliminating extra timelines.
But that wasn't about erasing universes, but eliminating parallel worlds artificially created by people.
Aeos explained it like cancer cells, infinitely dividing, and the divided humans could continue to travel through time, causing further effects.
Too many timelines, with infinite possibilities, would cause the entire multiverse to collapse completely as timelines continuously split.
Moreover, everyone in the main timeline was still alive. Duplicate existences were unnecessary.
Aaron sat on the sofa, arm around Aeos's shoulder, his thoughts wandering.
Seeing his somewhat melancholic expression, Aeos was moved.
Aeos put her feet up on the coffee table, peeled a segment of tangerine, and popped it into Aaron's mouth.
"Honey, why are you asking me these things? What are you thinking about?"
"Say, what if Zeno gets another whim in the future and wants to erase our eight low-level universes again?"
Aeos paused for a moment, then gave Aaron a deep look and responded calmly.
"That wouldn't be a whim, but a carefully calculated decision."
"Think of it this way… Suppose you're farming dozens of acres of land. You apply the same fertilizer, water, weed, provide sunlight, and thin the seedlings. Some of the varieties grow very well, while others grow crooked and stunted, no matter how you tend them. When the fruit ripens, you harvest. Then new seedlings will grow again."
"However, due to genetics, the high-quality seedlings will grow into high-quality plants. And those inferior seedlings, when they grow again, will still be inferior."
"As the manager, wouldn't you want to completely eradicate those garbage varieties and plant high-quality seeds afterward?"
Aaron nodded: "If you put it that way, I would. But why did having just one Tournament of Power allow those extra universes to exist again?"
"Aren't they all garbage? What's the point?"
Aeos smiled sweetly: "There's an old saying: 'Flavorless to eat, yet a shame to discard'."
"If these low-level universes are still tenaciously surviving and their flashpoints let the manager see their value, doesn't that give a reason to let the low-level universes stay?"
"Everything has its laws, yet there are still variables. That's what makes life interesting."
"Also, sometimes, gods don't need a reason to do things. Like humans, once they live in abundance, they will do things that are useless and meaningless."
After speaking, Aeos rested her head on Aaron's lap, lightly closing her eyes as if dozing.
Aaron stroked her head while pondering the reasoning behind it.
Aaron had thought about it this way too.
But he never expected that even though he was so powerful, he was still just a weed in others' hands that could be pulled up at any time.
Although Zeno, the Grand Priest, and the 12 Angels seemed very kind, Aaron was unhappy that the lifeline of his entire family, including his wives and children, was always in the hands of the gods.
On second thought, their kindness wasn't pretended either.
Because to a farmer, pulling up weeds isn't considered evil.
Humans also raise poultry meticulously, but once they get fat, they are slaughtered.
And they'll keep piglets to keep raising, starting another cycle.
But those poultry that never get fat, no matter how much they breed, are just a waste of grain. It's no loss if they're destroyed.
As for Angels, they are just tools employed to manage this world, not belonging to it.
They possess power that transcends this world.
Not just destructive power, but rules that surpass violence.
However, there are many types of rules, which Aaron couldn't understand for now.
Possessing Angel Power allows one to be immune to Zeno's erasure.
But the Grand Priest, as the strongest Angel, established rules, or rather, sealed the power of all Angels.
They cannot use it... if they do, they will disappear.
Aaron looked at Aeos's peaceful sleeping posture and made up his mind.
'Whatever the hell rules.'
'I don't care about erasing others, but if there's a possibility of erasing my entire family, then I will definitely rebel.'
'One day, I will stand at the pinnacle of the gods, transcending everything.'

In an instant, a wave of understanding flooded Aaron's mind.
A mysterious power spread continuously. With a mere thought from Aaron, the entire world stopped.
The world took on a layer of light purple mist in his eyes.
That was Time Power.
He put Aeos down, walked out of the house, and went to the laboratory.
Bulma, wearing a white coat, was fiddling with something while smoking a cigarette.
Because time had stopped, the rising smoke curls were suspended in place.
No.21 was pouring a reagent into a test tube where a magnificent reaction was taking place, colorful and also motionless.
Her face showed a look of anticipation, frozen there.
Aaron gave both of them a light kiss on the cheek and walked out of the laboratory.
