Chapter 292: You Are an Idiot
From the moment John introduced himself, shook hands with Sophia, and engaged in conversation, he displayed an air of strong gentlemanliness.

The problem, however, was the misunderstanding that had occurred earlier.
First impressions were crucial, and Sophia's initial perception of John had been quite negative. She'd thought he was just pretending—acting like a gentleman for show—no matter how serious or polite he was later on.
John could only smile bitterly, touching his nose in resignation.
It was hard to explain himself, especially since he had peeked at the gap between Sophia's denim shorts a few times. He had no excuse. He deserved to be scolded for that.
When Sophia noticed that John remained silent, she assumed he felt guilty, which only fueled her contempt.
She had encountered many men like him before—men who pretended to be decent on the outside while hiding their true intentions. If John wasn't Anita's god-brother, Sophia wouldn't have given him the time of day, let alone stand here chatting with him.
A silence fell between them, thick and awkward.
