The Seven Sisters and Their Hidden King

Chapter 192: You Should Call Me Brother-in-Law

"These two must be buried alive."

John's cold voice lingered in the air like a death sentence. With those words, he turned and walked out of the club, leaving the grim task to Peter and his men.

Just as he reached the street, Peter hurried out behind him, holding something in his hand.

"Mr. Lopez, you forgot the token."

John didn't stop walking. He glanced over his shoulder and shook his head. "Take it back to Alan. Tell him I don't need it anymore. As long as your people don't provoke me again, we won't have any problems."

His voice was calm but resolute.

John was drawing a firm line between himself and the Black Dragon Gang. He had never intended to get entangled with them. When Alan gave him the token, John had accepted it simply to avoid unnecessary trouble. It was supposed to be a convenient shield, not a brand.

But now he realized—it was the wrong message.

To others, that token marked him as one of them. Worse, it suggested he was leading them. The way Peter and the others had kneeled before him just now had made his skin crawl. That wasn't who he was.

He didn't want to be mistaken for their boss, much less become one.

He was a man of principle. A man of the new era. He wouldn't let them stain his soul with their filth.
