Chapter 163: Hawkeye
The bar was quiet during the day, nearly deserted.
Alice Moon told John to wait outside the VIP room. Then she opened the door and stepped inside, her eyes landing on a figure sitting alone—face and body wrapped in layers of concealment.
As she entered, the figure looked up. He wore a special mask, and a voice changer at his collar distorted his speech.
It was none other than Hawkeye, her direct superior in the Shadow Pavilion.
"Night Rose," he said, his altered voice sharp and cold. "I assume you know why I'm here."
His eyes, like sharpened blades beneath the mask, seemed to pierce right through her.
Alice's expression didn't change. She answered coolly, "I don't know what you're talking about."
"You killed the Black and White Ghosts."
It wasn't a question. It was a conclusion—one drawn from the clues he had gathered. And in his mind, there was no room for doubt.
Alice fell silent.
