The Seven Sisters and Their Hidden King

Chapter 152: The Influence of Treatment

Justin was furious.

He had finally found an opportunity to make a comeback, only for it to be effortlessly dismantled. Worse yet, he left behind the impression of being meddlesome in Queenie's eyes.

She was clearly annoyed.

Seeing his pale expression, Marcia tried to ease the tension with a smile. "Although it was a misunderstanding, Justin meant well. Queenie, don't blame him."

"I don't blame him," Queenie said coldly. "He's nothing to me. Why would I blame air?"

Unable to bear the embarrassment, Justin stood up and made to leave. Marcia tried to stop him, reminding him that he had come in their car and didn't drive himself. But Justin waved her off, saying a friend would pick him up in New York.

Then he left, clearly dejected.

Watching Justin's retreating figure, Nick shook his head in disappointment.

Marcia had just done her best to help Justin. If Justin had been more tactful, the better move would have been to stay a bit longer, endure the discomfort, and leave with them later.

Leaving in that moment only made it seem as though his entire reason for coming was to sow discord between Queenie and John. And when that plan failed, he stormed off in a huff.

Such narrow-mindedness and obvious ulterior motives only made him more unlikeable.
