Chapter 108: Nino and Itsuki’s Conflict
A Few Minutes Earlier.
Tokyo, Nino and Miku's Apartment, Night.
The living room atmosphere was filled with the warm aroma of home-cooked food. In front of the television, which was showing a late-night talk show, Itsuki sat relaxed on the sofa, wearing loose pastel pajamas. Beside her, Miku sat with her arms crossed, occasionally glancing at Itsuki's belly, which was beginning to swell with pregnancy. Miku's expression seemed flat, but inside her heart, a storm of emotions was brewing.
'Why is this world so unfair?' She thought, her inner voice full of bitterness.
'In high school, Yotsuba was the first to meet Fuutarou, the man I liked. And now, after I've grown up and finally like another man, Itsuki was the first to meet Ren-kun. She's in a relationship with him, and even pregnant out of wedlock...'
Miku's conscience was filled with guilt for harboring inappropriate thoughts about her sister-in-law. She knew it was wrong—Ren was Itsuki's boyfriend, and Itsuki clearly loved him very much. But, even though Miku repeatedly tried to suppress her feelings, she couldn't help it.
"Itsuki, I made your favorite, meat buns."
Nino came out carrying a plate of warm meat buns that had just come out of the oven, their fragrant aroma immediately filling the room.
Itsuki's eyes sparkled at the sight of the food.
"Thank you, Nino! You're the the best!"
Immediately, she took a still-steaming meat bun and ate it with a happy expression, her cheeks slightly flushed with satisfaction.
