Chapter 63: The Student Council Vice President’s Scandal
Kabukicho, located in the heart of Shinjuku district, is one of Tokyo's largest entertainment areas. When night falls, the place transforms into a dazzling sea of neon. Large billboards with glowing kanji and katakana characters adorn every corner of the buildings. The pounding music from nightclubs mixes with the loud conversations of visitors passing through the narrow sidewalks.
Ren walked calmly through crowds of people filling the streets. His eyes occasionally glanced at the various love hotels lined up along the way, with their striking facade designs and inviting names.
At street corners, young girls in minimal clothing stood waiting, their faces heavily made up with glittering makeup under the neon lights. They smiled seductively at passing men, offering "escort" services in whispers or sometimes quite openly.
The atmosphere of Kabukicho at night was indeed like this—full of contrasts of Tokyo's nightlife that never sleeps. Office workers just returning home mingled with curious foreign tourists; lonely men seeking temporary entertainment; young couples looking for privacy; and of course, various types of people with their own agendas.
'Why do I have to come to a Pleasure District like Kabukicho just to buy meat buns?' Ren sighed inwardly.
The answer was simple: because the legendary Yamada Bakery was located right on the edge of Kabukicho. The shop was famous for its delicious meat buns with a secret family recipe, which happened to be Itsuki's favorite since her school days.
As Ren turned onto a smaller street, his eyes caught something that made him stop in his tracks. Among the crowds of people passing by, he saw a very familiar figure.
"Hm? Isn't that Ito Makoto? Well, who's the woman with him this time."
Ren squinted to see more clearly. Without a doubt, it was indeed Ito Makoto, his former classmate from his first year of high school. Makoto was known as a playboy who liked to toy with women's hearts. Despite having an official girlfriend, he was notorious for secretly cheating with various women.
Unlike Ren who openly had a harem with the consent of all parties, Makoto preferred to play behind the scenes. He deceived women with false promises and sweet lies. Comparing himself to Makoto, Ren felt he was far more honorable.
'At least I'm open about my relationships with Itsuki-sensei, Masha, and Ai. Not like that bastard who likes to lie and deceive.' He thought proudly to himself.
