"Shh." The man hurriedly put his finger to his mouth and said, "If you don't help cover for me, I'll tear your dress."
"You!" Gu Fuqiao couldn't believe someone would act like a hooligan in broad daylight in this day and age!
She almost wished she could kick the rascal hiding under the stall!
"Do me a favor!" The man nervously tugged at the hem of her dress, as if he would actually tear it if Gu Fuqiao refused.
It's a fish-die or net-tear situation!
Gu Fuqiao angrily glanced at him, then looked up to see several soldiers in military uniforms ahead.
She suddenly understood.
Even though there weren't any city enforcers back then, the economy was just beginning to gain some freedom.
This man was probably hiding from the soldiers!
Now that she had leverage over him, Gu Fuqiao felt triumphant. She looked down at the man hiding under the stall with a sly smile and said, "In that case, I won't be polite either."
The man didn't know what Gu Fuqiao was planning, but seeing her mischievous smile, he couldn't help but feel a chill in his heart.
