Chapter 105: The Leader of the Nudist Village...
Nox stood silently for a few seconds in front of the enormous house built around the gigantic tree.
Yuri smiled.
"Just go in."
The demon raised an eyebrow.
"That easy?"
"Of course."
She shrugged.
"The chief is probably inside."
She let out a sigh.
"Bored, as always."
Nox looked at the massive wooden door.
Taking a deep breath, he pushed it open.
CRRRRK.
The door slowly swung inward.
The first thing he saw was a massive room.
The floor was covered with animal pelts.
The walls were decorated with spears, axes, and enormous fangs.
And occupying almost the entire center...
...was a gigantic bed made from logs, dried leaves, and animal hides.
Lying on top of it was a completely naked man.
His long hair reached almost all the way down to his butt.
He had just sat up, stretching both arms while letting out a huge yawn.
Around him were three women, equally naked.
All three lay comfortably across the bed with satisfied smiles, breathing peacefully after what had clearly been a long session of passion.
The man slowly turned his head toward Nox.
"...Who’s this giant red Peque?"
Nox took a second to process the scene before bursting into laughter.
"Sorry for interrupting your... sausage party."
He glanced around the room.
"What a way to start the day."
The man grinned.
"I was busy trying to get three village women pregnant."
He stretched again.
"So, what do you need?"
Nox rested both hands on his hips.
"I’m here to make a deal."
At that moment, Yuri walked in behind him.
"Sorry for bringing him at a time like this."
The mud-covered woman gave a small bow.
"But Lord Demon Lord wishes to speak with you."
The man raised an eyebrow.
"Lord Demon Lord?"
He looked Nox up and down again.
"Doesn’t look like someone capable of conquering these lands."
Nox smiled.
"That’s exactly what I came to discuss."
He glanced toward the three women.
"But I’d rather speak in private."
The chief laughed.
"Fair enough."
Then he turned toward the three villagers.
"You can leave now."
The women smiled.
One kissed his cheek.
Another gently stroked his chest.
The third simply patted him on the shoulder before getting up.
The three of them slowly walked toward the exit.
Their legs seemed a little tired, yet none of them looked unhappy.
Quite the opposite.
All three were smiling.
As they passed Nox, they each gave him a polite bow.
"Have a good day, Chief."
"See you tonight."
"Thank you."
The man raised a hand.
"Take care."
He waited until they disappeared before looking back at Nox.
"Oh, by the way."
He pointed toward the mud markings on the women’s stomachs.
"Those markings always work."
Nox tilted his head.
"Work for what?"
"It’s an old swamp ritual."
The man smiled proudly.
"They help women get pregnant."
Nox froze.
"..."
"..."
"Interesting."
’I have absolutely no intention of asking how that works.’
At that moment, Yuri smiled, winked at him, and traced an imaginary mark across her own stomach with a finger.
Nox nearly choked on air.
He forced an incredibly awkward smile.
"I... I’ll keep that in mind."
The chief burst into laughter.
"Yuri."
"Yes?"
"Leave us alone."
She nodded.
"As you command."
Before leaving, she looked at Nox one more time, smiled again, and disappeared through the doorway.
Nox let out a relieved sigh.
’Finally.’
At that exact moment...
A window appeared before his eyes.
[Compatibility Detected.]
[Fallen Genesis conditions fulfilled.]
[Compatible Individual Detected.]
Nox barely had time to read it.
’What...?’
He immediately ignored it.
’Not now.’
He wasn’t about to hand out Titles before figuring out who he was dealing with.
The window vanished on its own.
The man began getting dressed.
Well...
He simply threw a massive animal pelt over his shoulders.
Then he walked toward a small wooden table.
He picked up a glass bottle filled with a dark red liquid.
It looked like wine.
He poured two glasses and handed one to Nox.
Nox accepted it.
"Thanks."
The man raised his own glass.
"First, introductions."
He lifted it slightly.
"My name is Rollo."
Nox did the same.
"Nox. Nice to meet you."
Their glasses clinked together.
CLINK.
The drink was surprisingly smooth.
Far better than anything Nox had expected to find in the middle of a swamp.
Rollo smiled immediately.
"I like you."
"I was hoping for that."
Nox took another sip.
"It’s always easier to negotiate with alcohol involved."
Rollo laughed loudly.
"Now then."
He dropped into a massive wooden chair.
"Let’s talk."
He rested both arms on the table.
"You said you want to conquer Mireveil."
"That’s right."
"Why?"
Nox remained silent for a few moments.
Then he decided to answer honestly.
"Because I need a place to build my empire."
Rollo said nothing.
He simply listened.
"The gods have declared war on me."
Nox placed his glass on the table.
"And I intend to return the favor."
The chief’s smile disappeared.
"That’s one hell of a big problem."
"It is."
"And what does my village have to do with it?"
Nox looked around before meeting his gaze again.
"I want to start here."
Rollo remained perfectly still.
"You want to rule over us?"
"No."
That answer clearly surprised him.
Nox continued.
"I want an alliance."
Rollo raised an eyebrow.
"Explain."
"You know Mireveil, and you have plenty of people."
He pointed outside.
"I don’t."
"Correct."
"I have power."
Nox placed both hands on the table.
"If we work together..."
He smiled.
"...we both come out ahead."
Rollo studied the demon for several long seconds.
Then he took another sip of wine.
"It sounds interesting, although we don’t really need your strength."
Nox waited patiently.
The chief slowly smiled.
"Though I have to admit..."
"...this whole war against the gods sounds entertaining."
Nox smiled back.
Rollo took another drink before speaking again.
"But first, I want to ask you something."
"Go ahead."
"What exactly do you gain by helping us?"
Nox answered without hesitation.
"Loyalty."
Rollo fell completely silent.
"And a place to call home."
The only sound left was the wind brushing against the wooden walls.
Finally...
Rollo burst into laughter.
"Boy..."
He wiped away a tear caused by laughing.
"It’s been a very long time since anyone made me such an interesting proposal."
Nox smiled.
"Does that mean you’ll hear me out?"
Rollo raised his glass once more.
"It means..."
A wide grin spread across his face.
"...I want to hear every single detail of your plan."
