Chapter 137: Restrained Max (R-18)
It turned out Max had been worrying for nothing.
More than two hours passed before Zerena finally woke up, and by then, he was already close to finishing his third batch.
Even with her eyes still closed, Zerena seemed strangely undisturbed by the irritating presence of Max that usually woke her up—whether it was him fondling her breasts or getting up to whatever other nonsense he’d decided to try that morning.
And strangely enough, she found herself missing it.
She woke up lazily, and when she heard some noise coming from downstairs, she looked slightly surprised.
She knew Max hadn’t left her sleeping for this long without a reason. Maybe he was actually trying to keep himself under control after everything she’d said the previous night.

With a yawn, she stretched her arms before heading downstairs in her extremely short shorts and loose T-shirt.
Seeing Max already working on another batch of potions was another surprise.
"Oh, what happened? Working first thing in the morning? Did you fall out of bed last night?"
Max smirked as he watched her walk downstairs. He was just finishing up the batch when he shook his head.
"Nah. I just woke up earlier and went back to sleep..."
Then he added, "I’ll be done soon. Why don’t you freshen up and we can have breakfast?"
She looked surprised and amused but nodded.
By the time she’d finished washing her face and brushing her teeth, Max was already up and setting out breakfast. The first thing he did when she stepped out was grab her breasts and start fondling them.
"So, you won’t be home again today?" he asked.
Before Zerena could even realize what he was about to do next, Max hurriedly reached for her shirt and pulled it up taking it off.
"What the fuck are you doing?" she asked in surprise, a hint of annoyance in her voice.

Zerena sighed.
"At least let me eat something first..."
Despite her words, a faint smile appeared on her face. She couldn’t help noticing that Max had actually managed to control himself somewhat.
Normally, he would’ve done something like this the moment he woke up. This time, however, he’d not only waited for her to wake up, but had even spent the morning working and prepared a batche of potions before finally coming to bother her.
For Max, that was practically self-control.

Apparently, Max was still just as perverted as ever. He’d simply been putting on an act for some reason.
"Then when are we going to earn more System Points?" Max asked.
As though worried she’d forgotten, he added, "There are only enough left for two more batches..."
As she freed herself from his hands and made her way toward the dining table, Zerena sighed.
"If I’m able to make it back by tonight, we’ll do it then..."
Seeing how uncertain she sounded, Max looked disappointed. He moved his chair beside hers and gave her thigh a light squeeze with one hand while starting to eat the sandwiches he’d prepared.
"We’re just letting those quests go to waste this way. Can’t you postpone it for another day?"
"We can get new quests by doing some more perverted things. It’s better to get our business running as quickly as we can..." she said, seemingly unconcerned by his hand wandering between her thighs and squeezing the innermost part of them.
"For today, just focus on completing the batches. From tomorrow if you have any points left, start making the bone-repairing potions. We already have enough of the healing ones..." she continued.
"The army is also going to give us a new recipe in the coming days or weeks, so get some more experience by then."
Max nodded.
"I’ll do what I can... so please try to come back this evening..."
Zerena continued eating her sandwich, sitting there in nothing but her shorts as though having breakfast half-dressed well just wearing shorts while being constantly harassed by Max had somehow become a perfectly ordinary part of her morning routine.
Max, naturally, couldn’t leave well enough alone. His hand wandered over and gave her nipple a teasing rub.
Zerena barely reacted.
She sighed again as she finished the first sandwich and reached for another.
"I’ll try..."

Max nodded, but quickly cleared up the misunderstanding.
"It won’t give us enough by itself. I’ll still have some extra points left after making the two batches, though. Adding those points together will be enough for one more batch."
Max deliberately made sure she understood that doing it once wouldn’t be enough. Even if it technically was, telling her that would be like shooting himself in the foot.
