Chapter 193: Photo
Yang Yun was delighted when Father Yang agreed: "Dad, thank you, you’re always so good to me."
"You, since you know I’m good to you, you should strive to do better! You’re already in your twenties, you can’t always live under your parents’ protection. You went to the army for just a few days and came running back complaining, how does that work? Don’t you want a bright future?"
Yang Yun couldn’t care less, laughing: "Of course I want a bright future. You and mom only have one daughter, I have to bring honor and glory for you both, but I’ll try hard, and you have to treat me well too!"
Father Yang was startled at first, then smiled faintly: "Yes, we only have you. Who else would we be good to?"
Yang Yun didn’t notice her father’s expression and looked back at the kitchen: "Smells so good! Are we having fish soup? Let Yang Zhen come over. Doesn’t she like fish?"
"The school isn’t close. Don’t bother."
"No! You know she doesn’t get to eat well at the dorm. Uncle and Aunt live far away."
"You’re quite concerned about her. Go call her."
Yang Yun hummed a tune as she went to make the call. She didn’t really like Yang Zhen but found her cousin weak and useless. She looked down on her softness but felt a sense of satisfaction from it, like inviting her for a meal, a feeling of charity, and Yang Zhen always said nice words that coaxed her into a good mood.
This satisfied her vanity and made her parents and grandfather think she was a kind person.
Yang Zhen received Yang Yun’s call. She didn’t really want to go, it was so cold, and the distance was far, but knowing her cousin’s temper, who knew how much trouble it would cause if she upset her. She depended on her uncle and aunt for many things now, so she cheerfully agreed.
By the time she arrived, Yang Yun was already eating. When she saw Yang Zhen, she pursed her lips: "Came so late, starved to death, not waiting for you."
