Chapter 18 A False Alarm
Sun Chan felt as if she had been electrocuted, and all the hairs on her body stood up. She sat up straight away, nervously looking in the direction of the yard. It sounded like Sun Lijuan's voice. Could it be that she had come looking for her?
"I came all the way here, are you still pretending to be dead? Come out!"
Sun Chan's heart was pounding. Was it Sun Lijuan herself, or did she bring a lot of people with her? Was she going to be taken back tonight?
Wang Dan and a few other girls had been woken up by the commotion. Upon hearing the voice, Wang Dan quickly became alert too, pulling on her clothes and heading outside.
Sun Chan also packed up her things a bit: "If things don't work out, I'll leave. I can't let you be troubled, I can just jump out from the small courtyard at the back."
Wang Dan shook her head and said, "I won't let her in, this is my place. Can she just come as she pleases?"
"But..." Sun Chan didn't want to burden her, but Wang Dan was completely unconcerned and firmly held her hand.
The woman outside continued to smash the door: "Damn bastard! I just finished my night shift, and you can't even come to pick me up? Are you looking to die?"
It turned out to be the neighbor woman. From the sound of it, her husband was drunk and hadn't come to pick her up from her night shift, so she was throwing a fit outside.
