Chapter 187
This was disastrous, the goatee man and the other Nova Clan managers all turned deathly pale.
No matter how they handled the aftermath, they were going to face severe punishment from the Nova Clan.
"Quick, capture them all first! Don’t let them run away!" a manager roared.
The matter had already been exposed. If these people all ran away on top of that, leaving the Nova Clan with nothing to show for it, they would not be far from death.
The guards sprang into action. Meanwhile, the kidnapped victims were in an unfamiliar environment, their minds a chaotic mess, seeing people charging at them, their instinct was to scatter and run.
The guards could not commit mass murder in broad daylight in front of the crowd.
In an instant, the plaza descended into absolute chaos.
There were several caravans in total, meaning nearly a thousand escapees, while there were only seven or eight guards, catching them all was impossible.
After seeing the little girl safely slip into the crowd and disappear, Adam took advantage of the chaos to sneak toward the Gate of Light.
When no one was paying attention, his figure flashed and he slipped right into the portal.
In the very next second, a man with a goatee appeared on the other side. "Quick, quick! Everyone woke up and they’re all running away! Send reinforcements!" the goatee man shouted, his face full of extreme anxiety.
The guards on the other side all dropped their jaws in shock. "You guys go catch them, I’ll report this!" One of the two guards radiating the aura of a Heaven and Earth Deity yelled to the rest.
"Yes, sir!" The remaining guards rushed out toward the Gate of Light, that guard shot straight into the sky.
In an instant, only a single Heaven and Earth Deity guard remained behind the gate.
"Why did those slaves wake up?" The remaining guard asked with an incredibly gloomy face, with an incident like this, they were all going to be punished.
Adam, however, curled the corners of his lips and shot the guard a wicked smirk.
"I’m asking you a question! What are you smiling at?" The guard frowned.
"Nothing. I’ll tell you right now." Adam clenched his fist and charged straight at the guard.
"How dare you!" The guard roared furiously.
Three seconds later, the guard collapsed limply to the ground. In the blink of an eye, Adam vanished, flying deep into the Heavenly Void Mystic Realm.
A short while later, at the Gate of Light.
The guard who had left to report returned with many Nova Clan members, when the crowd saw the corpse of the Deity guard, their hearts filled with sheer terror.
Right at that moment, the real goatee man and the other managers rushed through the Gate of Light.
They had stabilized the situation on the other side and forced all onlookers to stay behind, they entered the portal to ask their superiors how to resolve the matter.
Instead, they were greeted by a large group of people and a Deity guard lying dead on the ground, their hearts jolted.
"You." The goatee man’s body stiffened as the other Deity guard called him.
"H-Here, this lowly one is here!" he replied, trembling uncontrollably.
"What happened here?" The goatee man’s face was filled with complete confusion.
How the hell would I know?
After leaving the Gate of Light, Adam changed his identity once again, transforming into a fifteen or sixteen year old youth, he walked intermittently through the mountains and wilderness.
The Heavenly Void Mystic Realm was not that different from the outside world, the spiritual energy was vastly denser, and some of the Dao laws here were rather peculiar.
When Adam circulated his power, he felt a strange awkwardness and restriction, as if he could not unleash his full might.

Adam’s expression froze briefly, but the corners of his mouth quickly curled upward, he had been worried about not using his full strength here.

He took out a map and glanced at it. He was still about three days from the Deity Reincarnation Pool.
In between, he would have to pass through two major cities unless he wanted a massive detour.
To enter without arousing suspicion, he needed a proper identity, the reason he was trekking through the wilderness was to find a specific person, a friend of the Sword Sect Master who could help him procure a legitimate identity.
He walked a while longer before spotting a small pond reflecting the evening sunset glow, beside it sat a small wooden cabin.
The artistic conception of the scenery was extraordinary.
Finally here, Adam put away the map and walked briskly toward the cabin.
He had not taken more than a few steps when a heaven-shaking streak of sword qi slashed the ground exactly one foot in front of him.
"Who are you?" A weathered, ancient voice rang out.
An old man whose hair, eyebrows, and beard were all completely snow-white slowly descended from the sky to land before Adam.
Adam’s heart jolted, because he had not sensed a thing.
This old man had seemingly appeared out of thin air. However, Omniscience of All Things had not given any danger warnings, meaning the old man posed no threat.
"Senior Caspar, please forgive this junior’s presumptuous visit!" Adam cupped his fists in a respectful salute.
"Oh? You recognize me? Well, I suppose if you didn’t, you wouldn’t have come looking for me." Caspar stroked his beard, seemingly amused by his own words.
"Hehe, speak. What is the matter? And who told you I was here?"
Adam brought out the token and letter given to him by the Sword Sect Master. "This junior has come from the Mysterious Yellow Great World, and requests Senior to provide a legal identity!"
Caspar’s snow-white eyebrows twitched slightly. "Oh? You actually smuggled your way in? How did you deal with those two Deity guards at the entrance?" Caspar smiled as he took the token and letter, but the expression on his face instantly shifted.
