I Tame Beasts by Feeding

Chapter 422 - 318: Five Fingers of Chi Mei

"Alright. Jing Xueyi, you lead the way. We’ll go see just what these people from the Dark Stream are up to."

Seeing that Zhang Tianwen was on board, with Li Minghan and Shen Xingchen having no objections either, Yu Changsheng no longer hesitated. He nodded and addressed Jing Xueyi.

Jing Xueyi nodded. After a quick glance at Yu Changsheng, the group set off in a great procession, flying eastward.

Along the way, Zhang Tianwen and the others took the opportunity to restore their Status. A day later, Yu Changsheng spotted the great rift Jing Xueyi had spoken of in the distance.

The surrounding landscape was a series of rolling, dark-red mountain ranges, resembling a crimson demon dragon lying dormant upon the earth. The sky above also glowed red. Two blood-red Haoyangs, one to the left and one to the right, hung in opposite corners of the sky, emitting a strange aura that seemed to echo the land below.

The great rift lay in the very center of the mountain range. Seen from above, it was like a shocking scar across a person’s forehead, stretching for a hundred miles. It was immeasurably deep and pitch-black, as if the sharpest of blades had ruthlessly carved a vicious slash into the great dragon.

The dragon’s muscle and bone had been rent asunder, revealing the throbbing blood vessels within. A scarlet glow filled the entire rift, penetrating the deepest darkness. An incredibly intense Evil Qi billowed up from its depths, spreading out to influence the surrounding area.

WHOOOOO...

The wind howled through the rift, mingling with unknown whimpers and ghostly wails that chilled them to the bone. A Divine Soul Shock laced within the sound pulsed outward, causing the expressions of those passing by to shift.

"This is the place."

Jing Xueyi exhaled, took a moment to recall, then slowed down, leading Yu Changsheng and the others toward the middle of the rift.

Yu Changsheng’s brow furrowed as he stared into the bottomless rift. He carefully extended his Divine Sense, but he couldn’t reach the bottom. Fortunately, there didn’t appear to be any other immediate dangers. After a glance at Jing Xueyi, he thought for a moment and said,

"You just point the way. Stay behind me."

"Okay. Thank you very much."

Jing Xueyi was taken aback. A look of gratitude filled her eyes as she looked at Yu Changsheng and offered him a cupped-fist salute.

"It’s nothing." Yu Changsheng waved his hand. He shielded the group, then enveloped them all with his Divine Sense, doing his best to conceal their presence. Following Jing Xueyi’s directions, he slowly flew deeper into the rift.

The surroundings were dead silent. Aside from the swirling Evil Qi, they encountered no other living beings on their way down.

Fortunately, since they had all consumed the Evil Jade Demon Flower, they did not feel too oppressed by the atmosphere.

Two hours later, Yu Changsheng’s expression flickered. He slowly raised a hand, stopping in place to block the others.

"Be careful. The Dark Stream group is just ahead."

Yu Changsheng transmitted his words quietly via Divine Sense. He could feel astonishing ripples of Techniques up ahead. Several people were attacking in unison, constantly pushing forward. Among the fluctuations, he detected two belonging to Golden Core Cultivators.

Beyond that, the ground was crawling with Evil Ghosts, which were charging in relentless waves to block the path of the Dark Stream members. By now, however, the Evil Ghosts had been thoroughly routed, and not many remained.

Hearing this, the group tensed. Each of them held their breath and quieted their movements as they crept forward cautiously.

Before long, the scene ahead unfolded before them. Amid the gloom, a strange red light pulsed, and the Evil Qi in this place had reached its absolute peak.

The ground was littered with the corpses of Evil Ghosts that had yet to dissipate, and the wails of the dead echoed all around. Amidst a swarm of the ghoulish creatures, a group of twelve figures stood out.

The twelve people were positioned in a strange Array. In mid-air, they had manifested two colossal Blood Demon Giants. Divided into two teams of six, each controlled one of the giants. Every attack they launched was met with the howls of countless dying Evil Ghosts.

Leading the two groups were two Golden Core Experts. One was a middle-aged Cultivator in a dark red robe, and the other was a middle-aged Cultivator in a dark green one.

Fortunately, the dense Evil Qi in the area also suppressed Divine Sense, so the two leaders hadn’t noticed the arrival of Yu Changsheng’s party.

Yu Changsheng paused, hiding in the shadows to silently observe the situation, careful not to make any rash moves.

"These damn Evil Ghosts are endless. What a pain."

At that moment, the Golden Core Cultivator from Dark Stream in the dark red robe let out a low roar. With a frown, he commanded the Blood Demon Giant to slam its fist down. In an instant, endless Evil Ghosts shrieked as they were reduced to ash.

"This is all those useless idiots’ fault. Did they really need to send so many people after one woman, Jing Xueyi?"

The Cultivator in the dark red robe sneered as he obliterated another large swath of Evil Ghosts.

"The way I see it, they were just blinded by lust. They’re probably off somewhere having their fun with that little vixen right now, completely forgetting to return. What do you think, Zimo?"

The Golden Core Cultivator called Zimo gave a resigned sigh, but he seemed to agree. He chuckled. "They’ve been repressed on the Martial Continent for way too long. A chance like this doesn’t come easy. It’s fine to let them blow off a little steam."

Zimo raised an eyebrow at the man in the red robe as he spoke, chuckling. "What’s the matter, Meng Bo? Regretting you didn’t go after her with them?"

Meng Bo snorted. "Of course not. I just think those little brats are taking far too long. If they were here, we wouldn’t have been stuck for so long trying to break through."

"However," Meng Bo said, unconsciously licking his lips. A lecherous glint appeared in his eyes as he let out a wicked laugh. "That little vixen, Jing Xueyi, she really is a rare, top-grade piece of work. If I wasn’t afraid you couldn’t handle things here alone, I might have been tempted myself."
