Chapter 334 - 275: The First Disciple
"Good. With these two cultivation techniques, my physical body is now practically invincible, at least among those at the Foundation Establishment realm."
Beaming, Yu Changsheng clenched his fist, feeling the power surging within him before letting out a long exhale.
His powerful physique had been an incredible asset on his journey so far. There were many times he wouldn’t have survived to see this day had it not been for his formidable body.
’Physical body, Cultivation, and Divine Sense. With the system’s help, I can advance in all three paths at once. This is the ideal state. I don’t have to worry about being spread too thin like other cultivators.’
Yu Changsheng’s brow relaxed as he thought to himself.
In Cultivation, advancing equally in essence, qi, and spirit was the ideal state. Mastery of all three paths was what allowed one to walk the path steadily and for a long, long time.
Having dealt with that, Yu Changsheng gave the treasures in the Storage Pouch a brief thought but decided to leave them for now. He didn’t touch anything, instead leaving his room and heading for Li Minghan’s quarters.
Before long, Li Minghan’s residence came into view. After announcing himself to the guard at the entrance, Yu Changsheng was immediately and respectfully ushered inside.
"Brother Changsheng."
Recognizing his visitor, Li Minghan smiled and invited Yu Changsheng to take a seat, personally brewing a pot of Spirit Tea for him.
The fragrant aroma of the tea filled the air as steam curled upwards, suffused with a dense Spiritual Qi. It was clearly no ordinary brew and must have been quite expensive.
Yu Changsheng nodded slightly and got straight to the point. He placed Yang Chengxu’s Storage Pouch on the table, pushed it toward Li Minghan, and said with a smile:
"Now that the dust has settled, it’s time to divide Yang Chengxu’s spoils. I’ve already taken a look inside, and there’s nothing I particularly need. You should take it, Minghan. If you hadn’t stepped in, the outcome would have been far from certain."
Yu Changsheng chuckled, his expression and tone both sincere.
Li Minghan raised an eyebrow, a flicker of excitement in his eyes. He nodded and inspected the contents of the Storage Pouch. His pupils contracted slightly, and after a moment, he looked up at Yu Changsheng and smiled.
"This guy was loaded. The items in here must be worth at least two million Spirit Stones all together. How about this: we split it fifty-fifty."
"No need. You take it all," Yu Changsheng said with a dismissive wave. He paused for a moment before adding, "I don’t have a particular need for any of these things. On the other hand, those two dragon corpses are extremely useful to me, so I wasn’t shy about taking them."
After a moment’s thought, Yu Changsheng slapped his forehead. He pulled out the Spirit Dragon Blood and added, "Oh, right. This was also in that guy’s Storage Pouch. Here, Minghan, you take it."
"Spirit Dragon Blood?" Li Minghan asked, momentarily taken aback before smiling. "I don’t need it. I’ve already used a dose, and a second one wouldn’t be very effective. You should keep it for yourself, Brother Changsheng."
"But don’t you have a Spirit Wind Python?" Yu Changsheng asked, his brow furrowed as he looked at Li Minghan.
"I do, but the Spirit Dragon Blood isn’t suitable for it. The python has almost no draconic bloodline, so giving it the blood would be a waste. You should just keep it for yourself, Changsheng."
Li Minghan nodded, then waved his hand dismissively and shook his head, looking entirely unconcerned.
"As for this Storage Pouch, I’ll accept it. I’ll transfer the funds to you on a Spirit Card later. Since you don’t need all this miscellaneous stuff, I’ll convert it all into Spirit Stones for you."
After a moment of deliberation, Li Minghan swallowed hard and took Yang Chengxu’s Storage Pouch as he spoke.
"No, no, that’s not necessary."
Yu Changsheng looked resigned. "I’m already getting a lot from you, Minghan. You already gave me the two dragon corpses. If you insist on this, I’m actually going to get mad."
"Heh." Li Minghan chuckled softly and didn’t press the matter further, simply shaking his head. He just looked at Yu Changsheng, a thoughtful glimmer in his eyes, as if he was already making other plans.
The two chatted idly for a while longer before Yu Changsheng decided it was time to leave. He cupped his fist in farewell and departed.
As for the matter of the Small Sword, Yu Changsheng didn’t mention it to Li Minghan.
By the time he returned to his residence on Beast Taming Peak, it was already late at night.
A smattering of stars dotted the night sky, and a bright moon hung high above. It generously bathed Yu Changsheng’s residence in its light, which spread out like ripples on water.
Inside, Yu Changsheng did not practice his Cultivation that night. Instead, he fell into a deep sleep.
Although his Cultivation had reached Foundation Establishment, making sleep largely unnecessary—as it could be replaced by meditation—the tension of the past few days had left him feeling weary. So, he slept. While it wasn’t the most efficient way to recover, it brought him a rare sense of peace.
The night passed peacefully, with a gentle breeze blowing.
「The next day, in the main hall of Wanxiang Sect’s Main Peak.」
"Greetings, Vice Sect Leader."
Lu Ruikai sat ramrod straight, watching the respectful Yu Changsheng, who stood before him with a cupped fist. After a moment, he nodded and a slight smile touched his lips.
"Enough of that. There’s no need to be so formal," he said. "You’re Elder Wei’s disciple. If we were to strictly follow seniority, I’d probably be the one of a lower generation."
Lu Ruikai chuckled as he looked at Yu Changsheng, a flash of surprise in his eyes. With his discerning gaze, he could naturally perceive the changes in the young man.
"How could that be? You’re joking, Vice Sect Leader," Yu Changsheng replied, shaking his head humbly.
"Very well. I didn’t call you here for anything particularly serious. I just wanted to ask you about what happened in the Illusion Mist Beast Valley."
"Of course." Yu Changsheng nodded, not at all surprised. He then recounted everything that had happened in the Illusion Mist Beast Valley in detail.
He even mentioned forming a Contract with the Profound Turtle, though he omitted some of the finer details and gave a more general account. Elder Wei hadn’t told him to hide it, and besides, as the Vice Sect Leader, Lu Ruikai could easily find out the truth if he really wanted to investigate. There was no point in trying to conceal it.
