Chapter 1312: She Likes My Boyfriend
Everyone was exhausted, and Su Niannian saw it as a great chance to rack up some goodwill, so she took the opportunity to have her own assistant bring over several big watermelons and hand them out to the crew.
When it came to Yun Qiluo’s turn, there were only two big slices left in the assistant’s hands. He skipped her and turned around to take them back to Su Niannian.
He even said to her with a fake smile, "Sorry, we’re out of watermelon. Our Nian’er likes it more. If you want some, you can go buy it yourself."
There was deliberate malice all over his tone.
Yun Qiluo couldn’t even be bothered to acknowledge him, though she was actually a bit thirsty. She just didn’t feel like eating watermelon, so she turned around and told her assistant to go buy her a fruit tea.
The assistants Yan Yan arranged for her were: one experienced assistant from his entertainment company, and one who doubled as a bodyguard, the one that had followed from the villa.
Usually the actual assistant was the one who ran errands, while the bodyguard just stayed by her side.
The assistant immediately did as told and went out to buy fruit tea.
It was only then that Luo Nianqing noticed that her assistant was actually from Yan Shi’s Century Entertainment Company, and she couldn’t help but laugh. "So you’re with Century?"
Yun Qiluo was dumbfounded. "What?"
"Nothing," Luo Nianqing didn’t think much of it, then followed up, "By the way, do you know Su Niannian? I feel like she’s kind of targeting you."
"Yeah, I’ve met her before."
"Had a bit of friction?"
Yun Qiluo nodded. "Mm." She sniffed and pulled a face. "She likes my boyfriend."
Luo Nianqing never expected her to Open Mouth and drop such a bomb, her lips parted slightly as she looked at Su Niannian, then at her again, and for a long while couldn’t squeeze out a single word.
From what Yun Qiluo said, it sounded like it was more than just "liking"—something had probably actually happened.
However, Su Niannian had always had high standards. Though her private life was anything but clean, the people she latched onto were all ones who could bring her benefits.
For her to like Yun Qiluo’s boyfriend, either that boyfriend was truly outstanding, or he had a lot of money and status.
Luo Nianqing thought it was probably the former. Yun Qiluo didn’t look like someone from the vanity fair at all; she was more like a kid whose hobbies all day, aside from eating, were just chatting with some unknown person on WeChat.
That was also why everyone in the crew was more willing to get close to her.
Everyone likes effortless socializing, where you don’t have to worry about being schemed against.
Before long, Yun Qiluo’s assistant came back. Not only did she buy fruit tea for Yun Qiluo, she also bought small cakes, and then gave everyone in the entire crew a cup of fruit tea and a cake from the bakery.
It was the first time the crew had gotten treats from Yun Qiluo, and they were all especially grateful and a bit embarrassed, coming over one after another to thank her.
Look at Yun Qiluo—just a third female lead, and rumor had it that as a rookie she was paid very little, yet she still treated them to such pricey fruit tea and cakes.
Now look at Su Niannian, decked out head to toe in designer brands, and all she gave was one slice of watermelon per person.
The contrast said it all.
Yun Qiluo’s assistant was quite the talent too. When she was handing out fruit tea, she stopped when she got to Su Niannian and didn’t give her any.
She even added, "The shop just happened to run out of ingredients, so I only managed to buy this much. Sorry about that. But Miss Su bought so much watermelon, you guys should have plenty to eat."
When she said this, there was an apologetic smile on her face, but in her eyes there was an inexplicable hint of mockery.
All in all, her expression was spot-on—one look and you could tell she was a seasoned pro at handling this kind of thing. She directly pissed Su Niannian off so much that she lost her appetite for watermelon, her face twisted like she’d just swallowed a fly.
