Chapter 1309: Su Niannian Joins the Cast
Yun Qiluo blinked; she hadn’t expected their nicknames to be exactly the same.
This was the first time in her life she’d ever clashed with someone on a name, and it actually happened on set.
"Then won’t people keep calling the wrong one of us on set?"
Luo Nianqing said, "It’s fine, only people close to me call me that. The Director and the others all call me Nianqing."
With the nickname coincidence, plus the fruit tea incident, the two of them seemed a bit closer, at least more familiar than at the beginning.
Luo Nianqing’s voice was always very pleasant, and she was pure and pretty; she didn’t act like a diva or put on airs while filming, and she was very polite to everyone in the crew, so she was quite popular on set.
But Yun Qiluo still inexplicably felt a kind of distance from her, which also meant that not many people actually dared to disturb her or casually talk to her.
Was this what people called the aura of a big star?
After a day of working together, Yun Qiluo discovered that although Luo Nianqing was the same age as her, her acting was pretty good; probably because she’d started as a child star, so she had a lot of experience.
It was completely different from someone like Lan Xinxin with that half-baked acting.
They worked together very happily, their relationship also became much closer, and Yun Qiluo actually had quite a good impression of this pretty girl—mainly because she was especially generous, always treating the whole crew to drinks, and never forgetting her.
On the third day of shooting, the second female lead finally made her slow appearance.
But the one who came was not the actress Yun Qiluo had previously been told about, it was Su Niannian.
Seeing her get out of the car with big and small bags and several assistants, Yun Qiluo, like many others in the crew, was briefly stunned.
It wasn’t until she walked over and introduced herself as the second female lead in this drama that Yun Qiluo still hadn’t fully processed it—how could an officially announced actor suddenly be replaced?
Su Niannian politely apologized to everyone for arriving late, sounding very sincere.
But when she turned to look at Yun Qiluo, her eyes were full of provocation.
Especially when she saw Yun Qiluo’s dazed, almost disbelieving expression; thinking she’d just slapped her in the face, she became even more smug.
When everyone dispersed, before going to the makeup room, she even deliberately leaned in close to Yun Qiluo’s ear and said:
"Didn’t expect this, did you? You grabbed a third female lead, and I still managed to get the second female lead."
"I really ought to thank you for stealing Xue Yao’s role, otherwise I wouldn’t have gotten such a good opportunity."
With that, she turned around, chest out, and walked into the makeup room with the makeup artist to change costumes.
Yun Qiluo stared at her back, utterly puzzled: "?"
She really didn’t get it—she’d grabbed a villain role, the kind of bad woman who’d definitely get cursed out on trending searches once the show aired; what was there to be so happy about?
Still, running into Su Niannian here was definitely not a pleasant thing.
Especially since they’d have to spend the next two or three months together.
The sudden replacement of the second female lead left quite a few staff members on set confused, but no one went up to ask. They probably knew something had changed behind the scenes and, since it had nothing to do with them, just kept busy with their own work.
Yun Qiluo, however, really didn’t understand how someone officially announced could still be replaced.
She quietly asked Luo Nianqing, "Why the sudden change? I remember it wasn’t her before."
Luo Nianqing, not surprised at all, shrugged. "This kind of thing is pretty common. Even after an official announcement, it’s not like people can’t be replaced."
She said softly, "Means are also a form of strength. If the benefits she brings to the production exceed the value of the original actor, of course the crew will choose her."
She clearly had long since gotten used to things like this.
