Danmachi: The Magic Grandmaster

Chapter 116: Fel's thoughts

Four days passed quickly.

Riding on tamed wyverns, the two familias finally arrived at the main area where the black dragon roamed.

After some rest and recuperation, they began to confront the black dragon directly.

When Sion sensed that unit zero one had left the shadow garden, he seamlessly transferred a portion of his active consciousness into the massive puppet.

At the exact same time, Sion noticed that the dungeon had become more active.

"It seems that the dungeon can sense both the evilus gods deep below and the black dragon battle on the surface."

High tier monsters were intelligent.

Apart from the xenos who had actual reasoning capabilities, other monsters only had a few core emotions, cruelty toward humans and life and an endless longing for the surface.

"A simultaneous war in two locations?" Sion sat quietly on the sofa, with his mind threads working perfectly together.

"My prayers can no longer suppress the will of the dungeon." Ouranos wiped the sweat from his brow and sat wearily on his dark throne.

"It isn't that your prayers are ineffective, but rather that they simply cannot suppress the massive scale of the activity in the dungeon."

"It looks like the grand expedition has officially started." Fels sighed.

"Fortunately, there is that boy. As long as he is in the dungeon, the tragedy of a thousand years ago will not be repeated." Fels continued.

"He is the unknown factor that even Zeus and I have never seen before. Is this also a possibility of gekkai?" Ouranos closed his eyes.

"I truly look forward to that child's future."

Fels was slightly curious.

After all, in a certain sense, Sion was the exact same kind of person as Fels.

Both were dedicated researchers of the arcane.

"The future of the world depends entirely on this battle." Although Sion wasn't the hero the gods were looking for, he would undoubtedly play a key role in this war.

Regardless of the final outcome, Sion would undoubtedly be able to bear the name of a hero.

What kind of hero did the gods long for?

Overcoming numerous hardships, remaining steadfast in their beliefs during a desperate battle and shining brightly as a beacon of hope.

They longed for someone who used all of their strength, wisdom, and power to create miracles that would amaze even the gods.

...

Ouranos and Zeus never treated gekkai as a simple game.

While many gods did think and act that way, these two deities were far more interested in saving humanity than in living a carefree life of luxury.

Even while they were still in the tenkai, they repeatedly interfered with the world, attempting to resist the endless invasion and slaughter brought upon by the dungeon.

Although the results weren't always perfect, their actions had helped humanity in many ways.

Zeus continuously built his familia and made heroes in Orario.

Meanwhile, Ouranos remained in the darkness, constantly praying with his divine will, actively suppressing the dungeon for a thousand years.

Learning of Sion's grand achievements, their first reaction was one of genuine surprise and delight.

Even Zeus had wanted to meet Sion for a long time, that was a verified fact.

A hero, that was exactly how they described Sion.

"After this event is over, that child should finally receive an alias, right?" Fels observed the chaotic scene in the dungeon and asked the question.

The scene projected from the oculus was dark.

Satella stood there entirely alone, passively swallowing up the massive horde of monsters that surged forward.

Once a monster fell into that shadow, it would be devoured, and the mind extracted from its body would continuously sustain the domain.

With all the other entrances to the deep floors entirely blocked, Satella single handedly held off the endless tide of monsters that kept pouring out of the dungeon core.

"Mhm, that's true. What do you think would be a fitting alias for this child?"

Looking at the exact same scene reflected in his eyes, the usually serious Ouranos smiled.

"How about the Lord of Mysteries?" Fels laughed softly.

Fels was permanently shrouded in dark robes, making the mage appear as a highly suspicious figure of unknown gender and race.

But Fels was undoubtedly a good person.

During the dark age that would happen in the future, the mage would use healing spells non stop to help humanity and save countless people.
