Danmachi: The Magic Grandmaster

Chapter 81: A god

"The next part is the most crucial step," Sion said. His expression turned serious as he looked at puppet standing before him.

This was now an item to store infos.

Sion now needed to grant the puppet its properties.

This process was similar to the methods used in forging magic swords or crafting magic items.

Even with a human shape, it remained a lifeless object at its core.

He conjured a defensive barrier to prevent any accidents and took its hand.

Then his mind triggered a magic effect and puppets internal structure began to change.

There were three ways to add properties onto a weapon.

Either creating magic items, cursed tools or magic swords.

Magic items and cursed tools were equipment that only individuals holding the mystery development ability could craft.

Magic items required the mind to use.

Cursed tools functioned like enchantments.

They were cursed weapons inflicting debuff upon striking a target.

Magic swords were equipment that only those holding the blacksmith development ability could forge.

They only required a small amount of mind to act as an ignition switch, unleashing devastating power.

The cost was the destruction of the sword itself.

Although Sion did not have falna, he had analyzed the root of development abilities.

He could replicate the process after enough practice.

This was not surprising.

Humanity created alloys like mithril and orichalcum long before the concept of a falna ever existed.

People in that era lacked status parameters and development abilities yet they managed to invent these materials.

Furthermore, the future Amid would be able to construct magic circles without having the mage development ability.

This proved that development abilities were not strictly necessary...

...

Congenital magic represented the factors a person was born with while acquired magic represented the expanded capabilities granted by a falna.

Congenital magic had to exist before acquired magic could develop.

Although it was more powerful than congenital magic, it still couldn't escape this fundamental law.

"Finally done."

Arcs of lightning appeared across her entire body as Sion controlled Raiden shogun.

This was elementalization.

The root structure of the puppet was soul matter and her property was lightning.

She was essentially the incarnation of lightning.

"Are you finished?"

Meteria tapped on the defensive barrier and puffed out her cheeks in slight dissatisfaction.

Sion dismissed the barrier. He then patted Meteria.

"That was just in case something went wrong."

Sion shrugged and explained when he saw her expression. "If the creation failed and if any explosion occur. It'd be terrible if you get hurt."

Possibilities of an actual accident occuring was low...

Still, Sion took precautions.

"Is that so? Then I forgive you."

Meteria wasn't angry to begin with, and her attention soon drifted back to puppet.

She walked up and gently stroked the puppet. "It's truly hard to imagine that this is merely a puppet."

"Welp, she's a puppet for now," Sion corrected her. "I'll be able to create true life once I take another step forward in arcane."

"Absolute cinema," Meteria muttered.

This was one of the the so called memes, Sion told her.

Using it here, certainly fits the scene.

...

Only those holding the divine status of life could achieve creation.

Back on earth, Sion thought of whether the dungeon was manifestation of some god.

Because the dungeon appeared to be on the same level as the divines or even higher.

"By the way, what race would she be?" Meteria blinked then added. "You can't seriously classify her as a god... that would anger them."

"That's true." Sion mused thoughtfully.

"How about an elemental spirit?"
